(Haverford, PA)- The Dickinson College men's lacrosse team posted a key Centennial Conference win on the road at #15-ranked Haverford, topping the 'Fords 7-5. The conference race is as tight as it has ever been in the ever-competitive Centennial as Dickinson improves to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the CC. Haverford slips to 5-4 and 2-2 as well.

The game was close the entire way with neither team taking more than a one goal lead until the final minute of play. The 'Fords scored the first goal of the game, and the only of the first quarter to lead 1-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Devils struck twice to take the lead and then traded goals with Haverford to hold a 3-2 advantage at halftime. The teams each scored once in the third and traded scores in the fourth as Haverford tied the game 5-5 with 2:58 on the clock. Senior Ed Lawless (Abington, PA/LaSalle) converted a Chris Dodson (Bethesda, MD/Landon) to put the Devils in front 6-5 with 1:48 to go in the game. Brian Mohler (Baltimore, MD/Loyola) added an insurance goal with 49 seconds left to secure the win for Dickinson.

Senior Drew Peace (Lutherville, MD/Boys' Latin) scored a game-high three goals while first-year Charlie Gorman (Chevy Chase, MD/Gonzaga) tallied a pair of assists. Senior specialist Bernie Nolan (Bowie, MD/Gonzaga) won 12-of-16 face-offs and controlled four ground balls. Senior goatender Kevin Riley (Westfield, NJ/Lawrenceville) made 12 saves for Dickinson. Haverford's K.C. Peterson stopped 14 shots on the day.

The Red Devils return home to face Muhlenberg College on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm.
