CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior Mike Felice (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) and junior Ryan Heath (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) each scored five goals and handed out two assists, and junior Billy Fuchs (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) scored a game-high eight points on two goals and six assists as the nationally 19th-ranked Cortland men's lacrosse team rolled to a 22-5 victory over Oswego in SUNYAC action Wednesday afternoon. The Red Dragons improved to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the conference with the win, while the Lakers fell to 3-6 and 0-2.

Other contributors on offense for the Red Dragons were juniors Adam Hyde (West Seneca/West Seneca East) and Greg Steward (Elmont/ Sewanhaka) and freshman Kevin Keown (Morris Plains, NJ/Morristown), who each netted two goals. Junior Josh Cittadino (Baldwin) added a goal and an assist and won 10-of-13 faceoffs for Cortland. Sophomore Michael Robinson (Alexandria, VA/Thomas Edison) started in goal and made two saves in the first half. Sophomore Matt Hipenbecker (Mountain Lakes, NJ) took over in the second half and stopped two shots.

For Oswego, senior Steve Tronovitch (Binghamton/Chenango Forks), junior Mike Strohm (Waterloo) and sophomores Derek Card (Syracuse/ Henninger), Justin Creagh (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) and Mike Recor (Kirkville/East Syracuse-Minoa) each scored a goal. Sophomore Mike Brewster (East Syracuse/East Syracuse-Minoa) collected two assists. All four goalies on the Oswego roster saw action. Junior Matt Pfister (Patchogue/Patchogue-Medford) started and made 12 saves in 34 minutes, five seconds. Junior A.J. Davis (Webster/Webster-Thomas ) had three saves in 10:55. Freshman Judd Robinson (Slingerlands/ Guilderland) registered four saves in nine minutes, while freshman Zach Harris (Fairport) stopped one shot in six minutes.

Cortland, which opened up a 12-1 lead at the half and led 19-3 after three quarters, out shot the Lakers, 57-13, and held a 66-27 advantage in ground balls. The Red Dragons also won 20-of-31 faceoffs in the game.
