Hamilton Falls to Clarkson in Liberty Action, 10-6

CLINTON, N.Y. -- Bryan Jackson '07 scored three goals to help lead Clarkson University to a 10-6 Liberty League win against host Hamilton College at Campus Road Athletic Field on April 11.

Tom Ross '09 and Steve Kennedy '08 chipped in two goals and one assist apiece for Clarkson (4-7 overall, 2-0 league). Greg Lamb '08 (Baldwinsville HS) made eight saves. Corey O'Connor '08 won 14 of 19 faceoffs and picked up seven ground balls.

Franke Holiber '10 paced the Hamilton offense with two goals. Clark Winter '07 added his 13th goal and six ground balls.

The Continentals (2-8, 0-3) trailed 2-0 early, but scored three straight goals to grab a 3-2 lead. Holiber put Hamilton up with 10:56 left in the second quarter during an extra-man opportunity. The Golden Knights countered with four consecutive scores to take the lead for good. Brian Hoey '09 (Auburn HS) made the score 6-3 with his 15th goal 2:45 into the third quarter. Clarkson clinched the victory with three man-up goals in the fourth quarter. Kennedy scored both his goals in the fourth.

The Golden Knights lead the all-time series against the Continentals with 29 wins and 18 losses. Hamilton has lost six straight games. Clarkson finished 4 of 7 on extra-man opportunities. The Continentals were successful on 15 of 25 clears.

Hamilton travels to Hartwick College for a non-league game on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m. The Golden Knights play at Vassar College in another league contest on Saturday, April 14, at 3:30 p.m.
