Dachille's Four Goals Propel Camels to First Victory

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Steve Dachille (Garden City, N.Y.) erupted with four goals Wednesday, leading Connecticut College (1-8) to a 13-7 victory against Roger Williams University (3-4) in a men's lacrosse game played on Freeman Field. Sean Driscoll (Peabody, Mass.) chipped in with two goals and one assist as the Camels put an end to an eight game slide while halting the Hawks' winning streak at three games. Jesse Stevenson (Marshfield, Mass.) and Alex Saunders (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) tallied two goals apiece for the Camels.

Randall Morrison (Erdenheim, Pa.) stopped 13 shots in his first start of the 2007 season. Bro Smith (Wellesley, Mass.) contributed a save in relief duty. Ben Stahl (Longmeadow, Mass.) corralled a team-high six ground balls with some suffocating defensive stick-work, adding an assist for the winning side.

Sean Benner (Ardmore, Pa.), Packy Markham (Cutchogue, N.Y.) and Geoff Tucker (North Jupiter, Fla.) each contributed two scores for Roger Williams. Junior net-minder Bobby Hensley (Simsbury, Conn.) had seven saves in net.

The Hawks jumped on the Camels early, grabbing a 2-0 lead with a goal from Sean Benner (Ardmore, Pa.) at the 10:52 mark of the opening quarter. Junior Craig Audin (Sudbury, Mass.) put the Camels on the board with 2:11 remaining and RWU carried a 2-1 lead into the second quarter.

The Camels seized control of this contest in the second quarter, scoring six unanswered goals to build a 7-2 advantage. Robbie Logan (Salem, Mass.) assisted Dachille for the equalizer at the 3:01 mark. The Camels got goals from Alex Saunders and Dachille scored just 29 seconds apart to build a 4-2 lead with 9:02 to play in the half.

Later on in the second, Dachille had his third goal of the quarter with 5:04 to go, making it a 6-2 game. Stevenson capped the rally, scoring on a feed from Peter Crisafulli (Garden City, N.Y.) with 26 seconds remaining and the Camels carried a 7-2 lead into the break.

The Camels scored the first four goals of the third quarter and added fourth quarter scores from Saunders and senior Jamil Bradshaw (Brighton, Mass.) to complete the 13-7 triumph.
