Ritchie Leads Bentley to Fifth Straight Win

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore Alyssa Ritchie (North Andover/North Andover HS) tallied eight points for the Falcons to lead the Bentley women's lacrosse team to a 22-3 win over American International on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Miller Field. The Falcons improved to 6-4 (5-1 NE-10) with their fifth straight win, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 1-7 (1-4 NE-10).

AIC got on the board first when senior Lindsey Wolfe (Westfield) scored 18 seconds after the opening whistle, but after that it was all Bentley as the Falcons scored 22 unanswered goals. Sophomore Kim Morris (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs HS) tied the game for the Falcons and junior Liz Goddard (Acton/Acton-Boxborough HS) put Bentley in the lead for good with the first of her two goals with 26:31 to go in the first. Ritchie's first goal turned out to be the game-winner on the way to her three goals and five assists.

Senior Kellyn Riccitelli (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire HS) scored four goals and added an assist to move within two points of Lauren Ferraro (2000-02) to match Bentley's all-time career scoring record of 179 points. Junior Beth Gendron (Tyngsboro/Tyngsboro HS) also recorded a hat trick for the Falcons and classmate Missy Martineau (Salem/Salem HS) scored her first collegiate goal midway through the second half.

Freshman Jaclyn Griffin (Barrington, Ill./Barrington HS) continued her streak of scoring in each of her first ten collegiate games with two goals and two assists and junior Bridget Fitzgerald (Winchester/Winchester HS) added a pair of goals and an assist.

Freshman Christina Guglielmo (Fair Haven, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven HS) made seven saves to earn the win for the Falcons, while senior Megan Trystman (Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa) stopped 15 shots at the other end for the Yellow Jackets.

The Falcons return to action on Sunday when they travel to Brookville, N.Y., to take on top-ranked C.W. Post at 2:00 p.m. The team returns home on Wednesday, hosting Southern Connecticut State at 7:00 p.m.
