Big Second Half Propels Muhlenberg by McDaniel

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Andrew Lolley scored three straight goals in the final 4:49 of the third period to turn a 6-4 deficit into a 7-6 lead en route to a 12-8 Muhlenberg victory at McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Mickey Norton led all scorers with six points for the Mules (6-5, 2-5 CC), netting two goals to go with four assists.

Bill Warner (Yardley, PA/LaSalle) led the Green Terror (6-5, 1-4 CC) with three assists.

Trailing 6-3 with 6:37 to play in the third quarter after Chris Edmonds (Laurel, MD/Pallotti) finished a solo run, Sean Toohill finished a solo run a minute later to spark a 4-0 rally to close the period.

Lolley scored 37 seconds apart to knot the game at 6-all before completing his natural hat trick with 52 seconds left in the frame.

Steve Hoffman (Latham, NY/LaSalle) briefly knotted the game at 7 before Norton started another 4-0 flurry.

Three different Muhlenberg players contributed to the run, including two from Ari Jacaobson.

Kyle Hadden (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and Norton exchanged goals over the final 4:23 to set the final margin.

Gibbs Preston (Baltimore, MD/McDonough) opened the scoring off a Brad Baer (Westminster, MD/Westminster) pass from cross-cage to give McDaniel a 1-0 lead.

At the 11:43 mark, Cliff Burwell found Tim Martin for the first of two Mule man-up goals.

Baer and Edmonds closed the first-quarter scoring, both netting tallies off Warner feeds to give the Green Terror a 3-1 lead.

The two teams exchanged goals in the second, giving McDaniel a 4-2 edge at the break.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Haverford on Saturday. Game time is 3:00 p.m.
