SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Kaitlin Glenn (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) netted her sixth hat trick of the season and scored the eventual game-winning goal to lead Ursinus past Swarthmore 8-7 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Thursday.

Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, NY/James I. O'Neil) scored twice and added an assist while Allyson Shicora (Media, PA/Strath Haven) made three saves in the final five minutes to hold off the Garnets (9-7, 2-5 CC) comeback attempt for the Bears (10-5, 6-2 CC) sixth conference win.

Lindsay Roth led all scorers with four goals, including three straight in a span of three minutes and 13 seconds to get Swarthmore within one late in the second half.

Cannon got Ursinus on the board with an unassisted tally just 3:31 into the game and Leah Kramer (Bishopville, MD/Stephen Decatur) added a free-position goal for a 2-0 lead.

Katie Crawford scored at the 17:03 mark to make it 2-1, but the Bears recorded four unanswered goals to take a 6-1 lead.

Kramer found Glenn and Cannon netted her second goal of the game on an 8m shot, before Lisa Clark (Media, PA/Penncrest) found the back of the net and Stephanie Kaysen (Media, PA/Penncrest) assisted Glenn for the 4-0 run.

Roth managed to squeeze her first goal in the first half with two seconds left before halftime to make it 6-2.

The Garnet recorded the first two goals of the second half to cut the lead to 6-4 with 23:26 left to play.

Kaysen pushed the lead to 7-4 on a pass from Cannon and Glenn struck for the third time at the 16:19 mark for a four-goal lead.

With just under 11 minutes to play, Roth scored three consecutive goals to pull Swarthmore within one at 8-7. The Garnet fired off five more shots in the final 7:23, but Shicora stopped three and Marissa Schaffer sent her free-position shot wide.
