LAURINBURG, N.C. — The Limestone men's lacrosse team marched on to the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Championship game with a 16-10 win over Belmont Abbey in the semifinals on Saturday. Limestone improves to 12-1 overall as the Crusaders fall to 6-9. The Saints outscored the Abbey in every quarter except the fourth for the win.

Allen Vaughn (Skaneatdes, N.Y.) scored a game-high five goals. Ryan Collins (Black River, N.Y.) and Brock Spilker (Pasadena, Md.) scored twice, as Justin Haworth (Deer Park, N.Y.), Colin Bell (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada), Brian Patridge (Dublin, Ohio), Derek Franzen (Mansfield, Mass.), Jan Daly (Garden City Park, N.Y.), Neil Harris (Pasadena, Md.), and Sean Flynn (Baltimore, Md.) also scored. Bell and Haworth chipped in two assists each, while Greg Kacinko (Alpharetta, Ga.), Spilker, Bobby Stalzer (Rockville Center, N.Y.), and Vaughn also recorded assists. Nick Chandler (Holbrook, N.Y.) scooped up six ground balls for the Saints.

Saint goalkeeper Marty Ward (Syracuse, N.Y.) recorded six saves as Brian McDonagh (Eagle, Idaho) had two. Tony Kvitko (Columbus, Ohio) also saw playing time.

Limestone will look to win its ninth straight conference tournament title on Sunday when the Saints face St. Andrews at 2:00 p.m. in Laurinburg, N.C. The Saints dominated the Deep South Conference as they won the tournament championship every year from 1999-2006.

LAURINBURG, N.C. -- The No. 2 seed St. Andrews Presbyterian College men's lacrosse team held a slim lead throughout the contest and held off No. 3 seed Queens University of Charlotte, 14-12, in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) Men's Lacrosse Tournament semifinals advancing to the finals against No. 1 seed Limestone College on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
