Nazareth Routs Alfred to Improve to 10-1

ALFRED, N.Y. (April 21, 2007) -- Visiting Nazareth built a 9-0 halftime advantage Saturday and went on to take a 13-1 women's lacrosse victory over Alfred in an Empire 8 Conference game.

The victory enabled the Golden Flyers to complete their conference schedule unbeaten at 7-0 with their 20th straight regular-season conference win. Nazareth is 10-1 overall. Nazareth also will be the top seed and host for the Empire 8 Conference Tournament May 5-6. Nazareth closes out its regular-season schedule with a pair of non-conference home games this week -- William Smith Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and Rochester Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Freshman Nora Davis (Bishop Ludden HS/Syracuse, NY) tallied three goals and one assist in Saturday's win. Senior Tia Morgia (Watertown HS/Watertown, NY) had two goals and three assists and senior Beth Quartier (Cicero-north Syracuse HS/Cicero, NY), junior Caity Richardson (Pittsford Mendon HS/Pittsford, NY) and freshman Stephanie Cash (Saratoga Springs HS/Saratoga Springs, NY) also scored twice each. Sophomores Shannon Lattimore (Auburn HS/Auburn, NY) and Maggie Mullin (Irondequoit HS/Rochester, NY) also scored goals.
