EASTON, Mass.-- Top-seeded and second-ranked Stonehill will meet third-seeded Bentley for the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse championship on Sunday afternoon after each squad advanced to the title match with respective league semi-final victories on Saturday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium.

The host Skyhawks (17-1) advanced with an 18-7 victory over fifth-seeded Merrimack in Saturday's first semi-final, while the Falcons (11-5) notched a 15-10 triumph over second-seeded and 10th-ranked Southern New Hampshire in the second contest to set up the first meeting between Stonehill and Bentley in the Northeast-10 championship match in seven years on Sunday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Sophomore Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) led the way with four goals and three assists for seven points for the Skyhawks, who scored the first nine markers of the day en route to an 11-1 lead at the break. Freshman Liza Gross (Loudonville, N.Y.) chipped in with four goals and an assist for Stonehill, which also received a hat trick and two helpers off the stick of senior Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.). The West Islip, N.Y. junior tandem of Kristin Darrell and Christa LaRocco each netted two goals for the winners, who also received a goal and an assist from sophomore Rebecca Cottam (Belmont, Mass.) as well as three assists from sophomore Michelle Salmon (East Islip, N.Y.) and a goal each from sophomore Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) and freshman Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.).

Sophomore Lauren Leddy (Sea Girt, N.J.) and freshman Maddie Basile (Hampden, Mass.) each netted a hat trick and an assist in the setback for Merrimack, which finishes the year at 11-6 overall, while junior Amanda Simeone (Nashua, N.H.) added a goal for the Warriors, who also received helpers off the sticks of freshman Mia Basile (Hampden, Mass.) and Kerri Bomil (Lowell, Mass.).

Junior Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) picked up her 17th win of the season in goal for Stonehill with a 10-save effort, while junior Amanda DiNitto (East Moriches, N.Y.) made six stops in net for Merrimack as the Skyhawks outshot the Warriors by a 30-21 margin, as the two teams met in post-season play for the fourth straight season.

Senior Kellyn Riccitelli (Cheshire, Conn.) netted six goals and an assist for seven points to pace Bentley in its semi-final triumph, as the Falcons scored five unanswered markers en route to an 8-5 lead at the break and built that advantage to six on a pair of occasions after intermission before holding off a late charge to advance. Sophomore Alyssa Ritchie (North Andover, Mass.) added a hat trick and three assists for Bentley, which also received a hat trick and an assist from junior Liz Goddard (Acton, Mass.) as well as two goals from sophomore Kim Morris (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.). Senior Katie Van Horne (Liverpool, N.Y.) registered three assists for the Falcons, who also received a pair of helpers from junior Beth Gendron (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and a goal and an assist off the stick of freshman Jaclyn Griffin (Barrington, Ill.).

Sophomore Maura Murphy (Candia, N.H.) paced Southern New Hampshire, which ended its season at 10-4 overall, with a hat trick and three assists for six points, while sophomore Libby Parent (Hinesburg, Vt.) added a hat trick as well for the Penmen, who also received a pair of goals from freshman Carole Lee (Derry, N.H.). Sophomore Jennifer Parro (Ipswich, Mass.) registered a goal and an assist for Southern New Hampshire, which also received a goal from senior Jennifer Thibault (Montgomery, N.J.) and an assist off the stick of junior Lucretia Joy (Portland, Maine).
