Notre Dame de Namur Names Head Coach, Captains
The Notre Dame de Namur University athletic department has announced the hiring of Joe Kerwin as the head lacrosse coach. Kerwin comes to NDNU after coaching at the University of Oregon for the past five seasons. Kerwin started at Oregon as an assistant coach for three years before taking over head coaching duties in 2006. He led the Ducks to a 35-8 record the past two seasons and an appearance in the 2007 Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association Championship Game. Kerwin was also named MCLA and PNCLL Coach of the Year in 2007.
As a player, Kerwin played for four seasons at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. "I am excited about the opportunity to coach at NDNU and look forward to building on the team's success this season." Kerwin said. The Argos finished last season with an 11-3 record and will begin their 2008 season in February.
