Charlotte Dixon Named Head Coach at Greensboro
Greensboro, N.C. -- Charlotte Dixon has been named head coach for the Greensboro College women's lacrosse program, announced Pride Athletics Director Kim Strable.
Coach Dixon served as the assistant coach for departed Pride coach Gregg Gebhard during the 2006-07 season. She came to Greensboro from Pfeiffer University where she had an outstanding playing career as an All Conference, All Region and All-America goalkeeper. In addition to her coaching duties, she is serving her second year as a resident hall director in the largest co-ed dormitory on campus.
A native of Galesville, MD and graduate of Southern High School, Coach Dixon has served as a volunteer lacrosse and field hockey coach for the United Youth Club in Harwood, MD and has been a Camp Director for the Gamebreaker Lacrosse Camp in Winter Park, FL.
While a student at Pfeiffer where she earned her degree in Organizational Communications, she fulfilled a public relations internship for the Major League Lacrosse Baltimore Bayhawks franchise, and had significant experience working as a coordinator and later as Clerk of Court for the Stanly County Teen Court.
"Coach Dixon has an infectious zeal for lacrosse and has already demonstrated the ability to transfer that energy and love of the game to the players during this brief interim," Strable said. "We are confident that her well-developed knowledge of the game coupled with her passion for coaching and teaching will serve Pride Lacrosse well in the years to come."
The Pride women's lacrosse team finished the year with a 5-1 conference mark and a 10-7 record overall. Its 10 wins were the third most in school history.
