Bryant University Names Lacrosse Captains for 2008

SMITHFIELD, RI – Bryant University men's lacrosse coach Mike Pressler is pleased to announce Corey MacDougall (Waltham, Mass.), Joe Cotiletta (Farmingville, NY), Kevin Hoagland (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Bryan Kaufmann (Putnam Valley, NY) team captains for the upcoming 2008 season.

"It is with great pleasure to announce our four captains for the 2008 lacrosse season here at Bryant University," said Pressler. "These young men have been chosen by their peers and the coaching staff couldn't be more pleased by the team's selections."

MacDougall and Cotiletta are two returning senior's from last year's Bryant team that posted an 11-4 overall record and captured the program's first Northeast-10 Conference regular season title with a perfect 9-0 record. MacDougall started in all 15 games for the Bulldogs in 2007, picking up 50 ground balls, second-best on the team and was later named a 2007 USILA All-American.

Junior's Kaufmann and Hoagland formed one of the most explosive attack units in the Northeast-10 a year ago. Kaufmann led the Bulldogs with 44 goals and 20 assists for 64 points. He had a pair of game-winning goals while 12 of his 44 goals were in man-up situations. For his efforts, Kaufmann was named co-Player of the Year in the NE-10 and was also named All-American by the USILA.

Hoagland was close behind with 40 goals and 10 assists for 50 points and was named Second Team All-Conference.

"We have balance at both ends of the field as well as by class with two juniors and two seniors. The leadership of Bulldog lacrosse is in great hands for this upcoming spring," added Pressler.

Bryant will open the 2008 season hosting Springfield and Wagner on Saturday, February 9.
