Queens Men's Lacrosse Signs One in Early NLI Period

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 5, 2007) – The Queens University Charlotte men's lacrosse Head Coach Jim Fritz has announced the signing of one student-athlete, Brian Rose, in the recent early signing period. Rose will join the Royals from Stony Point, N.Y.

"Last year we brought in a big class and had seven of that class sign early," Head Coach Jim Fritz said. "This year we are recruiting a smaller class and are really looking to fill our needs in certain spots. Brian visited Queens early and really liked the school and he was high on our list. When he was ready to commit early, we were happy to have him make that decision and have him on board for next year. He really is the kind of student-athlete we look for," said Fritz.

Rose is a four-year lacrosse letterman who plays attack at North Rockland High School. He has been named to both all-league and all-county after helping lead his team to the state sectional semifinals in 2006. Rose has been named captain for the upcoming 2007 season. In addition to his high school team, Rose has played three years for the Tri State Club team.

Besides lacrosse, Rose also played football for two years and was selected to the all-county team twice. This season he was named team MVP after helping lead the team to the state sectional final game and was named to the N.Y. State Section 1 Senior All-Star Bowl.
