Merrimack Lacrosse Announces Three NLI Signings
NORTH ANDOVER, MA. - Merrimack College men's lacrosse head coach Michael Morgan is pleased to announce the signings of student-athletes GREG MANNING (Hingham, MA / Hingham HS), STEVEN FREY (Madison, CT / Daniel Hand HS), and FRANK REDMOND (Wantagh, NY / Wantagh HS) to National Letters of Intent to enroll and participate in men's lacrosse at Merrimack College beginning with the 2008-09 season.
Frey, a long stick midfielder, is a three-year starter at Daniel Hand High School. He was a 2007 Southern Connecticut All-Conference selections and was selected to play for the 2007 Yale Bulldog Elite Summer Team.
"Steve is an aggressive long stick midfielder with a motor that brings a toughness that will help us next season," said head coach Michael Morgan. "We will look for him to come in and contribute with Tim Roy next year, giving us another talented defensive player."
Redmond, a two-year starter and three-year member on defense at Wantagh High School, was a 2007 Nassau County All-Conference recipient and was selected to play on the Long Island Sting summer team.
"Frank is a very good defenseman out of Wantagh High School, a great lacrosse program on Long Island. He throws very hard and hands out accurate checks, has good size and will help us on the defensive side of the ball."
Manning, a midfielder at Hingham High School, is a three-year member of the varsity squad. He is a two-year starter at midfield.
"Greg is a great dodger and shooter coming to us from a school with a great lacrosse tradition. He will bring added depth at our midfield for next season."
The Warriors open the 2008 season on March 4th at Pace. The home opener is March 16th against Molloy.
