Greensboro Loses to CUA in High-Scoring Shootout
Greensboro, NC -- Meghan Sabo scored 6 goals as Catholic University (2-0) defeated Greensboro College, 25-12, at Pride Field on Sunday. The Pride dropped to 0-5 with the loss.
GC's Layne Woodard (2 goals, 2 assists) recorded the first score of the contest 38 seconds into the game. Catholic responded with the next 3 tallies. They led 9-6 at halftime.
Christie Hebert's goal made the score 11-7 with 27:14 remaining. The Cardinals then scored the next 11 goals and led 22-7 with 15:30 on the clock. Hebert and Christina Denney led The Pride with 3 goals apiece.
Caroline Young had 2 goals and Laruen Maynard made 12 saves. CUA had 44 shots to 21 for the home team. The Pride was edge in draws 19-18.
