Second Half Surge Leads Devils to 20-8 Win
(Carlisle, PA)- The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team outscored visiting Goucher 12-1 in the second half to post a 20-8 non-conference win on Tuesday afternoon. The Red Devils held an 8-7 advantage at halftime and opened the second with a 7-0 run before Goucher answered with its only goal of the second half at the 9:46 mark.
Sophomore Alysa Crellin (Little Compton, RI/Portsmouth Abbey) struck with the eventual game-winner just 12 seconds into the second half. She finished with a game-high five goals, adding an assist, a game-high nine draw controls and four ground balls.
Junior Amy Jennings (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh) had a monster game as well, scoring four goals and dishing out a game-high five assists. Her nine points mark the fourth highest single-game total in school history while her five assists mark the second best single-game performance.
Sophomore Lexie Kob (Collegeville, PA/Springford) tacked on four goals and one assist while first-year Kelsey Muir (Glens Mills, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) tallied three goals and one assist.
Abby Larson (Easton, MD/Gunston Day) controlled five ground balls and two draws. Sunnie Ko (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) chipped in with four draw controls. Ana Sokol (Colts Neck, NJ/Peddie School) had five ground balls, three draws and three caused turnovers.
Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week Caitlin Kingsley (Katy, TX/Ridgefield) made seven saves on the first half. Jessie Clark (Devon, PA/Conestoga) made three saves in the second half.
Kate Knitter scored four goals and had two assists to lead Goucher (1-1).
The Red Devils improve to 2-1 on the season. They head south for spring break and will face Montclair State next Thursday at 9:00 am.
