Ursinus Downs Lycoming in Overtime

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Ursinus junior attack Catie Cameron (Limerick, PA/Spring Ford) scored the game-winning goal with just 11 seconds left in the second overtime as the Bears (1-0) won their season opener with a 15-14 overtime victory over Lycoming (0-1) Wednesday afternoon in women's lacrosse play.

Cameron scored on an assist by senior midfielder Kaitlin Glenn (Dover, De/Caesar Rodney) as the Bears won its third straight opener.

Sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, NY/James I. O'Neil) scored a team-high six goals for the Bears, while junior midfielder Lisa Clark (Media, PA/Penncrest) added in five goals.

Junior midfielder Jenna Werley (Springfield, PA/Springfield) added in two goals, with Cameron and freshman attack Hannah Kuranz (Landenberg, PA/Sanford) each had one.

Megan Wallenhorst scored seven goals for Lycoming.

Glenn added in two assists for Ursinus, while Cannon had one.

In goal, senior goalkeeper Allyson Shicora (Media, PA/Strath Haven) got her first win of the season as she made ten saves on the night. Kristina Peacock had 26 saves for Lycoming.

Ursinus will take on Claremont out in California on Monday, March 10.
