Emily Blatter matched Baer's total for the Gophers (1-2), tallying four goals. She also assisted on three of her team's other four markers.
Baer and Kerrie Wuenschel (Sykesville, Md./South Carroll), who finished with three goals of her own, staked McDaniel to a 2-0 lead in the game's first 1:11.
Baer finished a Kristin Mele (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill) feed 46 seconds into the contest before Wuenschel finished a solo run 25 seconds later.
Blatter made it a 2-1 game in the ninth minute before Wuenschel tallied her second marker of the afternoon at the 10:30 mark.
Sarah Mintz (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) made it a 4-1 game 48 seconds later before goals from Marlo Tersigni and Blatter cut the deficit to one.
Chelsea Ferruzzi (Jekintown, Pa./Jenkintown) and Baer tallied 56 seconds apart to make stretch the lead to 6-3 at the intermission.
Holding an 8-4 lead midway through the second half, Mintz converted a free-position attempt at the 45:48 mark to spark a five-goal flurry over the next 10 minutes to put the game out of reach.
