Greensboro Shut Out After Q1, Falls to No. 12 Cabrini

The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead against #12 ranked Cabrini but was shut out in the final three periods and fell 14-5 at home this afternoon.

With a man advantage GC scored the first three goals of the game and led 5-3 at the end of the first period. But Cabrini shut out The Pride the rest of the way and scored the game's final 11 goals.

Scott Reimer led Cabrini with five goals and Matt Conaway added three. Jose Rodriquez led GC with three goals.

Kevin Chenoweth recorded eight saves for Cabrini. Mike Federaro and Matt Leach combined for 14 saves for GC.

GC fell to 0-5 on the season; Cabrini improved to 2-0.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 8) – Junior Scott Reimer scored a game-best five goals as the #10 Cabrini College men's lacrosse team defeated Greensboro College 14-5 this afternoon. The Cavaliers improve to 2-0 while the Pride remain winless at 0-5.

In addition to his scores, Reimer added three ground balls while junior Matt Conaway tallied three goals off seven shots. Freshman Paul Skulski led the squad with two assists and added one score.

Junior Kevin Chenoweth stopped eight shots in the net for Cabrini for his second win of the year.

Juniors Joe Monroe and Mike Dolente each recorded two caused turnovers while junior Kevin Fahey won 7-of-10 face-offs.

Greensboro jumped to a 3-0 lead as Jose Rodriguez scored three straight, all man-up opportunities, in the first five minutes of the game. The Cavaliers cut the deficit to one with scores from Reimer and sophomore Casey Grugan before the Pride went back in front by two with 5:43 left in the first period.

Both sides added one more goal as Greensboro held a 5-3 advantage at the end of the first 15 minutes.

Cabrini held the Pride scoreless for the remainder of the game to take the win.

The Cavaliers play their first home game of the season on Wednesday, March 12 when they host PAC rival Eastern at 4:00 p.m.
