Trinity Wins on the Road at Drew in Season Opener
Madison, NJ -- Trinity defeated Drew in terrible conditions, 15-8, at Ranger Stadium in Madison. Kris Tedeschi scored six times for the Bantams in their season opener. Greg Reading led the Rangers with a hat trick and an assist. Brad Mendelson made 18 saves for Drew (0-2) in the loss.
The Bantams took a 7-3 lead into the shortened half time after the second period was interrupted by a lightning delay. Tedeschi had a hat-trick in the first half alone as Mendelsons 11 saves in the first half kept the Rangers in the game. Reading had pulled Drew to 3-2 down when the half hour delay was called, but Trinity came out hot after the suspension with four goals in the final 11 minutes of play.
The second half scoring opened with three straight from the Bantams including a pair from Greg Brennan. Sean McNulty ripped high for Drews first of the half and Ari Youngs first collegiate goal brought Drew to 11-5 at the end of the third. The Bantams took the fourth quarter 4-3 behind a pair from Tedeschi while Reading, Young and Tyler Morse all scored for Drew.
The Rangers head out west to face Ithaca and Whittier in San Diego.
