Sewanee Posts Comeback Win over Fontbonne

SEWANEE - Sewanee rallied today after a four-goal halftime deficit to record another win and move to 2-1, picking up both wins this weekend. Sewanee was down 8-4 at the half, and Michele Dombrowski's Tigers came out strong, outscoring the Fontbonne Griffins 8-3 in the second, securing the final score of 12-11 in favor of Sewanee.

Steffi Renninger (Germantown, Md.) and Peachtree City, Georgia's Catherine Sanders were involved with 10 of Sewanee's 12 goals, either getting credit for an assist on scoring the goal. Renninger finished with four goals and an assist. Sanders recorded five goals and two assists. Katie Radeackar led Fontbonne with six goals.

Fontbonne was 15-21 in clear attempts and Sewanee got 23 good clears on 29 attempts. Sewanee got 20 ground balls and Fontbonne picked up 24. Claire Kallio recorded eight saves in goal and Katie Gojkovich (Westport, Conn.) had seven.

Sewanee will return to action next week in California against Redlands on March 12.
