WATERVILLE, Maine --- Kate Sheridan (Hingham, Mass.) had her second straight eight-point game and head coach Karen MacCrate Henning won her first game as head coach at Colby College as the Mules took an 18-2 win over Wheaton College in non-conference women's lacrosse play Tuesday at Bill Alfond Field.

Sheridan had three goals and five assists Tuesday after leading the 14th-ranked Mules (1-1) with six goals and two assists in a season-opening loss at Trinity College. Sheridan is just two goals shy of reaching 100 for her career in just the beginning of her junior season.

MacCrate Henning, a two-time All-American player at University of Maryland, won two NCAA Division II titles and had a 103-21 record as head coach at C.W. Post. She is just the third head coach to lead Colby since the program began in 1978.

Lauren Strazzula (Norwell, Mass.) added three goals and two assists for Colby, while Caroline Atwater (Catonsville, Md.) finished with three goals and one assist. Kathleen Kramer (Norwell, Mass.) contributed two goals and one assist, Caitlin Briody (Hopewell, N.J.) had two goals, and Cary Finnegan (West Hartford, Conn.) and Anne Geraghty (Westford, Mass.) both had one goal and one assist.

Briody, Geraghty, Kate Gragnolati (Chevy Chase, Md.), and Alison Iannotti (North Haven, Conn.) all scored their first collegiate goals in the game for Colby. Kaggie Orrick (San Francisco, Calif.) also tallied for the winners.

Tess Meyer (Concord, N.H.) and Kathryn Sudbey (Sandy Hook, Conn.) had goals for Wheaton (1-2).

Keryn Meierdiercks (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) and Sarah Warnke (Lakeville, Conn.) combined for seven saves for Colby. Marianna Marcellino (Milton, Mass.) and Annalisa Carson (Yarmouth, Maine) totaled 11 saves.
