Goucher Loses First Game, to Wooster in Overtime

TOWSON, Md. - Matt Pullara and Conor Hannan hooked up on a goal 0:11 into overtime today that allowed Wooster to emerge with a 7-6 victory over Goucher in a battle of two teams that went into the game undefeated.

Although Pullara lost the face-off to start the OT period, he collected a ground ball and started a fast break, feeding Hannan for the game-winning goal.

The Gophers (3-1) never led the entire contest, but tied the score at 6-6 with 1:35 remaining in regulation on Dave Duff's second goal of the game.

Thew Fighting Scots (4-0) led 3-1 after one quarter and 5-2 at the half, but Goucher closed to within 5-4 after three periods thanks to an extra-man goal by Duff and an even-strength goal by Cooper Mazon.

An unassisted goal by Goucher's Brian Hoge 2:21 into the fourth quarter created a 5-5 tie, but the Fighting Scots regained the lead less than a minute later on an unassisted goal by Mark Weschler.

The loss snapped the Gophers' six-game winning streak that dated back to the final three games of last season.
