No. 8 Bowdoin 21, Skidmore 4
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Bowdoin College women's lacrosse team continued to roll, earning a 21-4 victory over Skidmore in their opening match in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Polar Bears (3-0) are ranked eighth in Division III and have outscored their first three opponents by a cumulative score of 55-7.
Bowdoin actually trailed 1-0 and 2-1 in the early going, but closed the half on a 12-1 run to put the contest out of reach. Christina Denitzio was outstanding in the opening period, scoring three goals and dishing out an assist to lead the squad.
Ashley Peterson finished with three goals, while Katy Dissinger, Kauri Ballard, Ingrid Oelschlager and Bobbi Dennison each netted a pair. Stephanie Collins-Finn made two saves in 55 minutes of play before giving way to Sarah Barton, who was not challenged. Ali Draudt collected a game-high five groundballs for Bowdoin.
