Pacers Remain Perfect with Triumph Over Hendrix

Charlottesville, VA – Ryne Boyle and Nick Parks combined for nine goals as Marywood defeated Hendrix College 17-6 in a non-conference match-up of first-year programs played at St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottsville, VA. With the win, the Pacers improved to a perfect 3-0 as the team heads into the conference portion of its schedule. Hendrix, the first college in Arkansas to sponsor lacrosse at the varsity level, saw its record slide to 0-6.

Marywood never trailed as they opened up a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and 11-2 advantage at halftime. Jesse Habich (Broomall, PA) made 4 saves in the opening 30 minutes and would get credited with his second straight win.

The Warriors outscored the Pacers 2-1 in the third quarter to bring the score to 12-4 in favor of Marywood heading into the final period, but would come no closer as the Pacers tallied five more goals in the final frame to Hendrix's two.

Boyle (Farmingville, NY) scored five goals for the Pacers while Parks (Emmaus, PA) netted four tallies to improve his team-leading total to 11 on the season. George Downey IV (Palmyra, PA) registered two goals and two assists and Andrew Lozoskie (Forest Hill, MD) tallied two goals on the morning.

Brothers William and Brian Roerden (Warwick, NY) each scored a goal and an assist in the win while Michael Polisky (Matamoras, PA) and Alex Dawson (Binghampton, NY) picked up their first goals of the season.

Stephen Klepfer (Binghampton, NY), Andrew Harman (Patchogue, NY), and Kevin Doyle (Warwick, NY) each recorded an assist to add their names to the score sheet.

Eric Luhrmann (Glens Falls, NY) stopped six shots in the second half to help the Pacers to the victory.

The Pacers held a 39-26 advantage in shots for the game and won 18 of 27 face-offs. Marywood, who went one for three in extra-man opportunities, scooped up 43 groundballs. Hendrix was credited with 34 groundballs and went one for eight with the extra man.

Marywood will open the conference portion of their schedule when they visit Misericordia University this Wednesday. The Pacers and Cougars will face-off at 4:00 in Dallas, PA.
