Maritime Falls to Wells, 14-1

THROGGS NECK, NY - The SUNY Maritime women's lacrosse team fell in their final home game of a six-game stretch ,14-1 to the visiting Wells College Express. The loss drops Maritime to 1-5 overall. Wells improved to 2-1.

Wells College seemed to control the game right from the opening draw, although the Privateers never gave up. Down 3-0 after 10 minutes, the Privateers looked to be turning things around when Kaitlin Murray (Blairstown, NJ/North Warren Regional) scored on a free position shot. Unfortunately for the Privateers, the Express defense tightened up and did not allow another goal for the game.

Wells college was led by Emily Anderson with 6 goals and 1 assist. Caitlin Brown followed with 3 goals, and Jamie-Leigh Csizmar recorded 2 goals.

In net, Meagan Golden (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant) made13 saves in the loss.

The Privateers will play their first game away from home on the 29th, when they head to Lancaster, PA to take on Lancaster Bible. The game is scheduled for a noon start.
