#6 Lock Haven Rolls Past Indiana (Pa.) in PSAC Opener
INDIANA, Pa. - The No. 6 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (2-1) cruised past Indiana (Pa.) University (0-2) 17-5 on the road in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opener for both teams.
Freshman Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) scored a game-high six goals to pace the Lady Eagles.
Uzialko, who played a phenomenal game according to LHU head coach Kristen Selvage got plenty of help, as six other players scored goals for the Haven. Jessica Blickenstaff (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) scored four goals and added three assists as the junior midfielder had a seven point afternoon.
Leigh Titus (Towaco, N.J./Montville), Amber Hoch (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) and Rachael Williams (Gettysburg, Pa./Catoctin) each scored twice for LHU. Hoch and Williams both had four point afternoons, as each set up two other Lock Haven tallies.
Kari Sielski (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and Caitlyn Watts (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) both scored for the Haven. Sielski also picked up two helpers.
LHU's strong defensive effort was led by sophomore Krystalle Neighbor (Dunellen, N.J./Jackson Memorial), who played an unbelievable game according to Selvage. Neighbor had four interceptions.
Sophomore goalie Kira Nuttall (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) turned in another strong effort between the pipes racking up six saves.
The Lady Eagles are back in action on Saturday, March 22 against East Stroudsburg University in their 2008 home opener. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Charlotte Smith field.
