Bowdoin Suffers First Loss, Falls to Clarkson
SYLVAN, Fla. - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team were tagged with their first loss of the season, 6-5, in overtime to Clarkson on Wednesday evening. The Polar Bears (3-1) return north to renew their annual rivalry with Middlebury in Brunswick at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
Clarkson scored 1:10 into the overtime period to deal the Polar Bears their first loss of the campaign, as the game was tight throughout. The squads were tied at four entering the final quarter and then traded goals in the final 15 minutes to send the contest into overtime.
Mike Giordano led the Polar Bears with two goals while Adam Tracy earned a pair of assists. Justin Starr, Steve Thomas and Harry Ashforth also found the back of the net for Bowdoin. Max Key dominated the circle, winning 11 of 15 faceoffs for the Polar Bears while Alex Gluck (three saves, two goals against) and Gordon Convery (seven saves, four goals against) split time in net.
