Muir Nets Six in Dickinson's Conference Opening Win
Carlisle, PA - The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team scored nine goals in each half to win its Centennial Conference opener over Muhlenberg 18-12 on Wednesday.
First-year Kelsey Muir (Glen Mills, PA/Academy of Notre Dame) led the way on attack, scoring a game and career-high six goals.
Sophomore Lexie Kob (Collegeville, PA/Springford) scored two goals and dished out three assists while causing three turnovers and controlling three ground balls. Classmate Alysa Crellin (Little Compton, RI/Portsmouth Abbey) tacked on four goals for the Devils.
Junior Amy Jennings (Baltimore, MD/St. Paul's) dished out three assists while Dana Bunting (Bishopsville, MD/Worcester Prep) scored twice and handed out two assists, including a beautiful sidearm feed to Muir in the first half.
Abby Larson (Easton, MD/Gunston Day) was dominant on the circle, winning seven draws. She also added a goal and an assist. The Devils held a 23-9 advantage in draw controls.
Jessie Clark (Devon, PA/Conestoga) earned the start in goal, holding the Mules to just four goals in the first half. Caitlin Kingsley (Katy, TX/Ridgefield) stepped in for the second half, stopping three shots. She turned away two quality shots in the final minutes.
Taylor Armstrong scored four goals and had five assists to lead the Mules (4-2, 0-1). Allisyn Vachon made seven saves in goal.
The Red Devils improve to 4-1 on the year and 1-0 in the conference. They host Haverford College at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
