Muhlenberg 13, Ursinus 8

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to cut the Muhlenberg lead to 7-5, before falling to the host Mules (5-2, 1-2 Centennial) 13-8 Saturday afternoon.

Ursinus (2-3, 0-1 Centennial) got three goals from junior attack Catie Cameron (Limerick, PA/Spring Ford) and two goals each from senior midfielder Kaitlin Glenn (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) and junior midfielder Lisa Clark (Media, PA/Penncrest).

After Muhlenberg took an early 3-0 lead, Ursinus got on the board with 20:16 left in the first half as Clark scored on a free position shot. Muhlenberg would add two more goals to take a 5-1 lead, before Ursinus cut the halftime deficit to 5-3. Cameron scored both goals, the first one at 1:53 unassisted and the second one with 56 seconds left on a free position shot.

To start the second half, Muhlenberg scored the first two goals, before Ursinus got back on the board at 24:04 left when Glenn scored on an assist from freshman midfielder Lindsay Fry (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Morristown-Beard). Sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, NY/James I. O'Neil) scored her only goal of the game at 23:21 unassisted to make the score 7-5.

Ursinus would add two more goals in the second half, with Glenn scoring at 13:01 and Cameron scoring on a free position shot with 1:20 left.

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Allyson Shicora (Media, PA/Strath Haven) and junior defender Laura Patton (Media, PA/Penncrest) each had four ground balls. Patton also forced three turnovers.

Shicora also finished with eight saves on the day.

Ursinus will host Rowan on Tuesday.
