Ursinus Falls to Rowan on Two Goals in Final 2:46

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Rowan scored two goals in the final 2:46, including the game-winner with 2:08 left, as the Profs (4-2) handed Ursinus (2-4) a 12-11 loss Tuesday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse play.

Ursinus did get three goals from senior midfielder Kaitlin Glenn (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) and two goals each from sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, NY/James I' O'Neil) and freshman midfielder Lindsay Urban (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West). Cannon also had two assists.

Trailing 2-1 with 21:37 left in the opening half, the Bears went on a 5-0 scoring run to go up 6-2. The run started with 14:36 left when junior midfielder Lisa Clark (Media, PA/Penncrest) scored on free position shot to tie the score at 2-all. Urban added her first goal of the game at 13:08 when she scored on an assist from senior attack Stephanie Kaysen (Media, PA/Penncrest).

Ursinus pushed the lead to 4-2 at 11:51 left when freshman midfielder Emma Bacharach (Lancaster, PA/J.P. McCaskey) scored on an assist from Cannon. The final goal of the half came at 2:51 when Glenn scored her first goal of the game unassisted.

The final goal of the run came with 28:02 left in the game, when Cannon scored unassisted. Rowan would rally to within one at 6-5, before Ursinus scored two goals to go up 8-5 with 20:07 left. Glenn had the first goal at 21:25, while Urban scored on a free position shot at 20:07.

Still, Rowan kept chopping at the Ursinus lead and tied the score at 10-all with 6:32 left as junior midfielder Carly Welsh scored.

Freshman midfielder Lindsay Fry (Mountain Lakes, NJ/Morristown-Beard) scored Ursinus' last goal on a free position shot with 3:28 left.

For Rowan, junior midfielder Lauren Crennan scored with 2:46 left to tie the score at 11-all, before senior attack Caitlin Meseroll scored the game-winner at 2:08 for the win. Crennan had a game-high five goals on the day.

Defensively, freshman defender Kim Johnson (Sewell, NJ/Clearview Regional) had four groundballs. In goal, senior goalkeeper Allyson Shicora (Media, PA/Strath Haven) had 12 saves for Ursinus.

Ursinus will travel to The College of New Jersey on Thursday night.
