13th-Ranked Colby Downs No. 17 Williams in Florida
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The 13th-ranked Colby College women's lacrosse team received six goals and two assists from Kate Sheridan as the Mules earned a league victory down in Florida with a 20-12 win against 17th-ranked Williams College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Wednesday. Sheridan has 12 goals and four assists in two NESCAC games this year.
The Mules (4-2, 1-1 NESCAC) trailed 7-6 at halftime before exploding offensively in the second half. Draw controls played a key part in the game as the Mules had a 30-3 advantage. Sheridan led the way with seven draw controls. First-year attacker Anne Geraghty added four goals for the Mules. Amy Campbell had three goals and one assist, while Kathleen Kramer also had three goals. Colby also got a pair of goals from Becky Julian and single tallies from Caroline Atwater and Heather Nickerson.
Britt Spackman led Williams (2-2, 1-1) with two goals and four assists. The Mules will play host to third-ranked Middlebury College at noon on Saturday.
