#7 Gannon Rolls by Regis to Take Record to 6-1

ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's lacrosse team completed a perfect three-match homestand Thursday afternoon with a 20-8 victory over Regis (Colo.) at a rainy Gannon University Field. The Lady Knights scored 14 consecutive goals at one point during the match.

The two teams split the first four goals before Gannon exploded for 14 straight goals to assume a 16-2 lead. The run started in the first half, ended in the second half, and lasted 28 minutes and 49 seconds. In all, Regis went 31 minutes and 28 seconds without scoring a goal.

Six different Lady Knights scored during the 14-0 run. Colleen Dixon (Lafayette, N.Y./Lafayette) produced five goals during the blitz. Regis then rallied with five of the last eight goals to account for the final 20-8 score.

Dixon led the offensive unit with a season-high six goals. Antonia Cianfrocco (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) netted four goals. Kayla Nelson (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego), Taryn Millerd (Shortsville, N.Y./Midlakes), and Mary Eshenour (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) produced two goals each. Nelson also dished out a season-high nine assists.

Christina Blasi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-LaSalle), Carla Jemison (Versailles, N.Y./Gowanda), Sarah Belen (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton), and Dana Rousseau (Easton, Md./Easton) had one goal each. Acacia Cook (Clay, N.Y./Clay N-S) recorded five saves during her first start of the season.

Gannon, ranked seventh in NCAA Division II, improved to 6-1 with its third consecutive victory. Regis remained winless at 0-7. The Lady Knights return to action Monday, March 31 with a huge regional contest at sixth-ranked Lock Haven. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
