Swarthmore Drops Decision to #20 Dickinson
SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Swarthmore (4-6, 0-3 CC) fell to #20 Dickinson (6-2, 3-0 CC) in a 17-6 decision in Centennial Conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Clothier Field.
Garnet midfielder Alex Gilbert-Bono '10 (Wellesley, Mass. / St. Mark's) scored her seventh goal of the season with 15:41 on the clock in the first half, to mark Swarthmore's first goal of the day making the score 4-1. Swarthmore Midfielder Anna de Regt '09 (Redmond, Wash. / Overlake School) notched a goal with 4:42 on the board to earn her ninth goal of the season.
Garnet midfielder Abbe Muller '10 (West Hartford, Conn. / Conard) scored back-to-back goals to end and start the halves for Swarthmore. Her first goal came with 1:18 remaining in the half to make the score 7-3. The Garnet came within three when Muller notched her 17th goal of the season with 28:41 on the clock in second half.
Swarthmore junior Marissa Schaffer (Moreland, Ohio / Laurel School) shot one past the Dickinson goalie at 25:52 to make the score 9-5. With four tenths of a second left in the game Garnet attack Amy Vachal '11 (Somerset, N.J. / Rutgers Prep) picked up her 25th goal of the season to make the final score 17-6.
Susannah Blair '08 (Princeton, N.J. / Princeton Day) play between the posts for the Garnet collecting seven saves and picked up nine ground balls.
The Garnet will finish up their three game home stand with a non-conference game against Eastern on Thursday, April 3, game time is set for 7:00 pm.

(Swarthmore, PA) - The Dickinson College women's lacrosse team returned to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, rolling to a 17-6 win over Swarthmore.
The Red Devils opened with a 7-3 first half and tacked on 10 goals after the break as they improve to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
Junior Amy Jennings (Baltimore, MD/McDonogh) led the charge, scoring six goals on the afternoon while controlling four ground balls.
Sophomore Lexie Kob (Collegeville, PA/Springford) tallied three goals and three assists while classmate Alysa Crellin (Little Compton, RI/Portsmouth Abbey School) also had a hat-trick with three goals. Crellin was dominant on the circle, controlling a game-high 10 draws.
Amanda West (Harleysville, PA/North Penn) anchored a solid defensive effort, causing four turnovers on the afternoon.
First-year Jessie Clark (Devon, PA/Conestoga) made eight saves on goal for the Devils. Abbe Miller scored a pair of goals for Swarthmore (4-6. 0-3) while Susannah Blair made seven saves.
The Red Devils travel to #4-ranked Gettysburg College on Tuesday to face the Bullets at 4:30 pm.
