Eleven Contribute in McDaniel's Win at Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Erinn Hopkins (Monrovia, Md./Urbana) recorded her second consecutive hat trick to lead McDaniel to a 14-1 win over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Tuesday.

In addition to Hopkins' three-goal day, 10 other players tallied a point for the Green Terror (-3, 2-2 CC), including seven others with at least one goal.

Greta Flaherty scored the lone goal for the Owls (3-5, 0-3 CC), who were outshot 34-9 in the game and were in a 13-0 hole before tallying early in the second half.

A Brittany Baer (Westminster, Md./Westminster) unassisted goal 44 seconds in jumpstarted McDaniel. Hopkins added back-to-back tallies 26 seconds apart to push the lead to three before two minutes had elapsed.

Chelsea Ferruzzi (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) finished a Jennifer Stone (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) assist at the 2:35 mark before Hopkins completed her hat trick 3 minutes, 11 seconds into the game.

Lindsey McDonald (Germantown, Md./Damascus) finished the final of three Kerrie Wuenschel (Sykesville, Md./South Carroll) before Wuenschel tallied two of her own markers to make it an 8-0 game at the 12:37 mark.

Four different players made it a 12-0 game at the intermission before Kristin Mele (Ellicott City, Md./River Hill) tallied her first goal of the season to push the lead to 13-0 just 1:34 into the second half.

Flaherty broke up the shutout in the 34th minute before Sarah Mintz (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) set the final margin in the 41st minute.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Villa Julie on Tuesday. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
