No. 14 Mary Washington Upended at Catholic

Washington, D.C. -- The 14th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-8 decision at Catholic University on Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The Eagles fall to 7-5 on the season.

The Eagles scored the first two goals of the game, but trailed, 8-4, at halftime. UMW scored the first three goals of the second half to cut the deficit to 8-7, but the Cardinals scored the next five goals, before UMW added the final goal of the game.

Mary Washington was led by Caitlin Erickson's two goals and three assists and Amie Bruce's two goals and one assist. Julia Milner also added two goals for UMW. Kate Robinson scored five times for Catholic.

Meredith Deitrick had seven saves in goal for UMW. The Cards edged UMW in shots, 25-23.

The Eagles will host Christopher Newport University at 11:00 am and Greensboro College at 4:00 pm on Saturday.
