(Buffalo, NY) - After dropping their first four games of the year the Medaille men's lacrosse team got on track with a 14-11 win over Washington & Jefferson College. It was only the second time in their history that they have beaten the President's.

The Mavs jumped out to a (5-1) lead after the first quarter and took a two goal lead into halftime. The third quarter proved to be the deciding factor as the Mavs netted five more markers enroute to the win. The Mavs received a huge game from freshman, attacker, Joe Glieco (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) who had (6) goals on the day, including two with the man advantage.

Also having a big day was David Bennett (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) who scored twice while assisting on five other Mav goals. The Maverick defense held strong only allowing six even strength goals as they were led by junior, keeper, Ben Dlugosh (Palmyra, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) who finished with (12) saves.

The Mavs improve to 1-4 on the year as they will host the College of Mt. St. Vincent on Sunday (4/6) at 12:00pm at the Nichols School.
