Wheeling Jesuit Defeats Dominican in Thriller

The Wheeling Jesuit Lacrosse team played its first game on the James LaRosa Field on Friday. Prior to the game, the Cardinals paid tribute to their fallen coach. The two teams battled exchanging goals with one another. Dominican pulled ahead at half time by a score of 6-5. Both goalies were outstanding. Joe Sims, the Cardinal goalie made 14 saves in the game.

Dominican's Joe Assante recorded 15 saves. In the end the Cardinals came out on top. They were led by Trevor Veres who had 3 goals and an assist. Jack Malone was not far behind with 2 goals and an assist for the day. Eric Jenkins recorded 2 goals of his own with the remaining goals coming from John Miller and Jeff Arneson.
