No. 3 Franklin & Marshall Cruises Past Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall junior attack Jen Pritchard scored a game-high five goals, while junior midfielder Shannon Summers added in four, including the 100th goal of her career as the third-ranked Diplomats (9-1, 5-0 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (4-7, 2-2 Centennial) 19-3 Saturday afternoon at Eleanor Frost Snell Alumnae Field.

Franklin & Marshall broke open a close 2-1 game in the first half by scoring 11 straight goals, taking a 13-1 lead with 27:31 left in the contest. Sophomore attack Blake Hargest added in seven assists for F&M, who had a 40-13 advantage in shots.

For Ursinus, senior midfielder Kaitlin Glenn (Dover, DE/Caesar Rodney) had two goals, bringing her career total to 95. Junior attack Catie Cameron (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) had a goal in the contest, while sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, NY/James I' O'Neil) had an assist.

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Allyson Shicora (Media, PA/Strath Haven) picked up seven groundballs as she had nine saves. Cannon had four draw controls, while freshman attack Hannah Kuranz (Landenberg, PA/Sanford) had two caused turnovers.

Ursinus will host Haverford on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Shannon Summers (North Wales, PA/The Hill School) registered her 100th career goal, finishing the day with four goals and three assists to lead No. 3 Franklin & Marshall past Ursinus 19-3 in Centennial Conference (CC) women's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Blake Hargest (Cockeysville, MD/St. Paul's School for Girls) had a 10-point performance with three goals and season-high seven assists, dishing out her fourth helper at the 4:27 mark of the first half to help Summers' hit the milestone.

Jen Pritchard (Media, PA/Penncrest) and Meredith Lussier (Radnor, PA/Radnor) combined for nine goals for the Diplomats (9-1, 5-0 CC). Pritchard scored a game-high five goals, while Lussier went 3-for-3 from 8-meters to finish with four.

The Bears (4-7, 2-2 CC) got two goals from Kaitlin Glenn and nine saves by Allison Shicora.

F&M, who scored on six out of eight free-position shots, started the game with two in a row by Pritchard and Summers. Glenn made it 2-1 with an unassisted tally at 25:31, but the Diplomats reeled off 11 straight goals including 10 in the first half for a 12-1 lead at intermission.

The first five goals in the 11-0 run happened in just three minutes, 31 seconds to make it 7-1 with 20:43 left in the opening half. Ashley Bevington (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School) and Pritchard each scored twice and Lussier converted her first free-position shot in the spurt.

F&M momentarily slowed up the attack and got its eight goal of the day at the 13:08 mark when Hargest found Bevington, but with seven minutes until halftime the Diplomats got four more goals for an 11-point lead. Hargest had a hand in three of those goals, scoring one and assisting on two.

In the second half, F&M held a 16-6 shot advantage and outscored Ursinus 7-2. Lussier and Pritchard added two more goals apiece. Lidia Sanza (Cockeysville, MD/St. Paul's School for Girls) made five saves and collected five ground balls, while Bevington won six draw controls.

The Diplomats return to action on Tuesday at Dickinson. Game time is 5:00 p.m.
