Pollsters' Comments About Teams They Ranked

Cortland: #1. Took care of business this week. (Big Eyed Fish) — #1. (D-III) — Still #1 for now. Dickinson hot on their heels. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #1. (goalielax10) — #1. On cruise control now. Unfortunate that match-up with Nazareth has been postponed. (idealtin) — Still rolling. Couple of solid squads coming up. (laxdood22) — #1. (LaxForNow) — #1. Cruise control. (longstick33) — #1. (minkhoo) — Easily handled Brockport but have three games this week, including one against a solid Nazareth team. They need to be focused or could be upset. (nevadajoe) — #1. (Richard) — #1. Cortland beats Brockport handily. Up next is North Haverbrook. (thatsmell) — Best in the North. (The Reason) — #1. Holds on to Number 1. (valaxfan) — #1. (Youngred)

Dickinson: #2. Got a really nice quality win over Washington College this weekend. I think Dickinson may finally be for real. (Big Eyed Fish) — Handled Washington College on the road. (corkscrew) — #2. (D-III) — They have beaten six teams I believe that at one time have been ranked in the top 20. My dark horse to win it all earlier in the year is coming down the stretch looking strong! (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #2. (goalielax10) — #2. Great week for the Red Devils. Impressive run for this team. (idealtin) — I have been one of the few not to have Dickinson at 2 or 3. Finally push them through. (laxdood22) — #2. (LaxForNow) — #2. After falling behind to WAC, they stepped it up in the second half and pulled away. F&M remains the only challenge left on their schedule until the Centennial tourney. (longstick33) — #2. (minkhoo) — Two really impressive conference wins last week and look to be the team to beat in the Centennial. (nevadajoe) — #2.Took care of WAC nicely. Good win. (Richard) — #2. Spanked WAC handily. (thatsmell) — Best in the South. (The Reason) — #2. Red Devils move up. (valaxfan) — #2. (Youngred)

RIT: #3. Continues to keep playing really well. Rolling through their schedule. (Big Eyed Fish) — Do they have a top 20 win? (corkscrew) — #5. (D-III) — 11-2 and perhaps underrated. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #3. (goalielax10) — #3. Playing very good lacrosse. Coonie has this team playing at a very high level both offensively and defensively. (idealtin) — Seems like a complete squad strong on both sides of the ball. (laxdood22) — #3. Move up two spots with Tufts and Stevenson losses. (LaxForNow) — #3. The Tigers keep winning. I moved them up over Stevenson and Tufts. (longstick33) — #3. (minkhoo) — Should win out in the Liberty and could vie for the #1 seed in the North. (nevadajoe) — #3. (Richard) — #3. (thatsmell) — They score a lot of goals. (The Reason) — #3. Wins two to move up. (valaxfan) — #3. (Youngred)

Stevenson: #6. Caught off guard by a rapidly improving Roanoke team. (Big Eyed Fish) — Good win over Salisbury. (corkscrew) — #4. (D-III) — Still an elite team. Midweek road trip to Salem raises some questions. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — Have had a tough go with ODAC teams. (Doxology) — #7. (goalielax10) — #6. Cantabene has been a whiner since his Rochester days, and he hasn't changed. A little more focus on learning from some of the teams shortcomings (playing a full 60 minutes) and they would have beaten the Maroons. (idealtin) — Interested to see what Widener can bring to the table. (laxdood22) — #6 Drop two with loss to Roanoke. (LaxForNow) — #4. I'm not sure why a game that was originally scheduled to be played at Stevenson was moved to Roanoke when re-scheduled, but it was most likely the difference in the OT result. Most likely the loss cost them a home game at some point in the tourney. They will need Pecunes back for the stretch run. (longstick33) — #5. (minkhoo) — Wishing they could have the Roanoke game as a do-over. Will need to be careful with the Widener game this week. (nevadajoe) — #5. Mixed bag this week. Loss to Roanoke woke them up. (Richard) — #4. (thatsmell) — Loss to Roanoke hurt. (The Reason) — Losses and falls. (valaxfan) — #5. (Youngred)

Tufts: #7. Endicott finds a recipe for success against the Jumbos. The ice is getting mighty thin for a Jumbo. Not a lot of room for error. (Big Eyed Fish) — Loss to Endicott! Ouch. No matter how you slice it, that is three losses to unranked teams. (corkscrew) — #3. (D-III) — Best in the NESCAC, though overall conference may be down this year. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #6. (goalielax10) — #5. Got beat by an Endicott team that has found themselves. Not as dominant as I had expected, with some questions at X and defensively giving up more than they should. (idealtin) — A loss after a string of games. Defense was not good vs. Endicott. Now sitting with three losses on the year. Still think they are a top-tier team that will learn from the loss. (laxdood22) — #5. Drop three with bad loss to Endicott. (LaxForNow) — #5. They create great opportunities on offense but take terrible shots. They also have a ton of questions on D and in goal. They can't afford any more losses or their Pool C bid is in serious jeopardy. (longstick33) — #4. (minkhoo) — The loss to Endicott raises a few questions, and they have a two tough conference games this week. (nevadajoe) — #4. (Richard) — #9. Power Gulls bring Jumbos back to earth. Razor-thin margin of error now for Tufts. (thatsmell) — First loss with whole team. (The Reason) — #5. Loses and moves down. (valaxfan) — #4. (Youngred)

Salisbury: #4. The Gulls are continuing to play really well and are finding their offense. Too bad there won't be a conference rematch with Stevenson this year. (Big Eyed Fish) — #6. (D-III) — Is anyone thinking the Gulls will win it all? Not the team you want to face in the tournament. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #11. (goalielax10) — #4. Seems to be where we kinda expected them to be - probably can be attributed to great coaching. (idealtin) — War at the Shore is next and should be a very good game. (laxdood22) — #4. Move up two spots with Tufts and Stevenson losses. (LaxForNow) — #6. Continue to beat up on CAC opponents. The class of conference. The weak schedule has allowed their offense to mature and gel, and that is a scary thing for the rest of D3. (longstick33) — #7. (minkhoo) — Looks like the Gulls are finally hitting their stride in all facets of the game. Save me a seat on Tuesday! (nevadajoe) — #8. (Richard) — #7. SU dominates SMC and UMW in impressive fashion. Team appears to be getting better each week. WOTS another opportunity for the Gulls to show they are back in prime form. NCAA tournament could see some early season rematches (LC, W&L) with reverse results. (thatsmell) — Should finish 14-3. (The Reason) — #4. Sea Gulls playing well. (valaxfan) — #6. (Youngred)

Stevens: #5. Quietly keeps winning. Both Ithaca and Nazareth are on the horizon. (Big Eyed Fish) — No wins vs. top 20 teams. (corkscrew) — #8. (D-III) — #5. (goalielax10) — #8. Taking care of business. Game vs. Fisher last week proved this team can win vs. a good game plan, and their team just does not rely on their midfield. (idealtin) — I was not sure what to do with the Ducks/Jumbos. Head to head/common opponents/overall body work. I have the Ducks above them for now. (laxdood22) — #9. (LaxForNow) — #7. In the midst of the E8 schedule and without any real challengers, it is tough to tell how they are playing. Still one of the top midfield groups in the nation. (longstick33) — #6. (minkhoo) — Should keep rolling crisply through the rest of the conference schedule. (nevadajoe) — #9. (Richard) — #6. (thatsmell) — Quietly remaining in Top 10. (The Reason) — #7. (Youngred)

Cabrini: #8. They'll win out the rest of the way. (Big Eyed Fish) — #14. (D-III) — Dangerous offense. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #10. (goalielax10) — #7. On cruise control till NCAAs. (idealtin) — Will only continue to get better heading into May. (laxdood22) — #7. (LaxForNow) — #10. The CSAC is weak, and the Cavaliers are just beating up on conference teams. They do the right thing by playing such a tough non-conference schedule, because they can't be getting much out of beating CSAC teams by 20+ goals. (longstick33) — #9. (minkhoo) — Hope that the weak competition for the rest of the CSAC will not cause this team to lose their edge, as they can play with anyone in the Top 10 (nevadajoe) — #6. (Richard) — #11. (thatsmell) — Schedule is now in their favor. (The Reason) — Looking good with easy wins. (valaxfan) — #9. (Youngred)

Washington & Lee: #12. They've been hanging around this spot for a couple of weeks now. Has three away games to finish out the year, and two of them will be pretty challenging. (Big Eyed Fish) — #9. (D-III) — Playing well as they go into the Roanoke game on 4/20. Berenis and the D look strong. Offense is clicking. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #4. (goalielax10) — #11. Beating opponents now, but Maroons are lurking. (idealtin) — How many teams from the ODAC will get in? Couple big ones left for W&L. (laxdood22) — #10. (LaxForNow) — #9. Beat up on a weak Randolph team. Next weekend's match-up at Roanoke should be great. (longstick33) — #12. (minkhoo) — Roanoke game this week is huge. (nevadajoe) — #7. (Richard) — #10. (thatsmell) — If they win against Roanoke, could finish in the Top 10. (The Reason) — Generals back from exams. (valaxfan) — #8. (Youngred)

Washington College: #11. Could potentially lose the next two games. War on the Shore finally comes with some excitement this year. (Big Eyed Fish) — Defense exposed vs. Dickinson. (corkscrew) — #7. (D-III) — Had a chance to move up with a win over Dickinson but was denied. Cord drives this bus. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #9. (goalielax10) — #9. Shoremen took it on the chin vs. Dickinson. Tough game vs. Gulls coming up. Thought they might be class of the South, but not this year anyway. (idealtin) — Clear where the Dickinson game was lost. Regroup for the big one. (laxdood22) — #12. Drop one position for loss to Dickinson. (LaxForNow) — #8. Dickinson got the best of them and asserted themselves as the best team in the Centennial. Washington started hot but has yet to prove they can beat a top ranked team. War on the Shore should be great on Wednesday night. They need a signature win. (longstick33) — #8. (minkhoo) — Lost to Dickinson and now face the War at the Shore followed by a conference game against a desperate Gettysburg squad. The Shoremen have their work cut out for them this week. (nevadajoe) — #13. (Richard) — #5. Oof, brought down to reality by Dickinson. WOTS looms large for the Sho'men to show they are elite. (thatsmell) — Tough schedule coming up. (The Reason) — WAC losses to Red Devils. (valaxfan) — #10. (Youngred)

Lynchburg: #10. They should get by a tough Hampden-Sydney and then ODAC tourney action begins. (Big Eyed Fish) — #12. (D-III) — Seeding in the ODAC tournament will be key for the Hornets. Should be made clear this weekend. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #8. (goalielax10) — #12. Two losses by two goals. Getting ready for ODAC tourney. (idealtin) — 2-0 week, with a big one on Saturday. (laxdood22) — #8. (LaxForNow) — #11. Looking forward to the Hampden-Sydney game next Saturday. The ODAC tourney should be awesome. (longstick33) — #11. (minkhoo) — Can't overlook H-S this week but look like they will wind up in the conference championship game. (nevadajoe) — #12. (Richard) — #8. Bounce back from bad loss with thumpings of Va. Wes. and R-MC. ODAC tourney should be interesting. Are the once favored Hornets suddenly underdogs? Nah. They will be fine. (thatsmell) — Should win out. (The Reason) — Wins ODAC games to maintain position. (valaxfan) — #12. (Youngred)

Middlebury: #9. Likely to finish out 12-2 and be a big player in the NESCAC tourney. (Big Eyed Fish) — #10. (D-III) — Can they win the AQ or looking to a Pool C bid? Conference may be down a bit this year. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #12. (goalielax10) — #10. Can't get a warm and fuzzy feeling because of all the goals they are letting up. (idealtin) — Looking like a top-3 seed in the NESCAC tourney. (laxdood22) — #11. Move up with Washington College moving down. (LaxForNow) — #12. The second best team in the NESCAC. (longstick33) — #13. (minkhoo) — Really like their chances to take the NESCAC. (nevadajoe) — #10. (Richard) — #12. (thatsmell) — Far cry from last year. (The Reason) — #11. (Youngred)

Roanoke: #15. What a great two weeks for this program. The Maroons storm back into my poll. Can they carry this momentum into the ODAC tourney? (Big Eyed Fish) — What a week for the Maroons! Beating two Top 10 teams in one week almost caught up with them in game vs. Hampden Sydney, but they still got the win. (corkscrew) — #11. (D-III) — Nice coaching job by Pilat; good effort against Stevenson. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — Huge win; really picking up steam now. (Doxology) — #14. (goalielax10) — #14. Big OT win vs. Mustangs, pulled out a tight one vs. Hampden-Sydney. Pilat has team on point at the right time of season. (idealtin) — Back into my Top 20. (laxdood22) — #13. Move up from 20. Might be high, but someone needs to be at lucky 13. (LaxForNow) — #13. Back in the mix with three wins this week. They were very impressive in the upset over Stevenson. The 1-goal win over H-S was probably a little bit of tired legs catching up with them. (longstick33) — #10. (minkhoo) — They keep getting better as the season goes on. (nevadajoe) — #11. Man, the door opened, and the Maroons just came blowing through. This might be a little low for this team. (Richard) — #13. Like Salisbury, the Maroons are righting the ship at the perfect time. (thatsmell) — Finishing strong. (The Reason) — Noke Train back on tracks. (valaxfan) — #14. (Youngred)

Denison: #13. Finally playing an improved OWU squad. (Big Eyed Fish) — Barely escape. (corkscrew) — #19. (D-III) — Must win the AQ and beat OWU this weekend. Weak SOS won't get them a Pool C bid. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #17. (goalielax10) — #13. Nothing to report. (idealtin) — OWU has been looking for respect all year, and they could earn it in a big way with a win over the Big Red. (laxdood22) — #16. (LaxForNow) — #14. Huge match-up with OWU on Wednesday. (longstick33) — #17. (minkhoo) — Rivalry game on Tuesday will probably say a lot about who will get the AQ. (nevadajoe) — #20. (Richard) — #14. Best of Ohio. (thatsmell) — Could finish in Top 10. (The Reason) — Preparing for NCAAs. (valaxfan) — #18. (Youngred)

Franklin & Marshall: #14. Two ugly OT wins this week, but it'll move them up. (Big Eyed Fish) — Winning against marginal competition in overtime is nice but does not show a powerful team. (corkscrew) — #17. (D-III) — Still a top 20 team on any given day. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #19. (goalielax10) — #22. Although the Dips went 2-0 this past week, it was against inferior opponents whom they should have beaten more handily. (idealtin) — #15. Two OT wins this week. Due for a slip-up? Or building character by winning close games. (longstick33) — #15. (minkhoo) — I like them but sometimes worry about their inability to score. (nevadajoe) — #16. (Richard) — #15. Got pushed to the limit by Scranton and Swarthmore. Young teams needs to focus on the present if they want to make it out of the Centennial and into the NCAA tourney. (thatsmell) — Could finish strong. (The Reason) — #13. (Youngred)

Connecticut College: #16. Loss to Hamilton is concerning, but the NESCAC always seems to beat itself up. (Big Eyed Fish) — Bad loss to Hamilton exposes the Camels and must drop them down. (corkscrew) — #15. (goalielax10) — #15. Hamilton score surprised me; however, nothing should be taken for granted this year. (idealtin) — Tough one-goal loss to Hamilton. (laxdood22) — #20. Tough loss to Hamilton drops them a couple spots. (longstick33) — #18. (Richard) — #21. (thatsmell) — One more loss and they won't host NESCACs. (The Reason) — #17. (Youngred)

Plattsburgh: #24. Will they be able to unseat Geneseo as the #2 team in the SUNYAC. (Big Eyed Fish) — #18. (D-III) — Having a good season. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #21. Strength of schedule troubling for me here. However, only lost a few. (idealtin) — Rolled in their one game this past week. (laxdood22) — #19. Move into top 20 with drop-out of Mary Washington and F&M. (LaxForNow) — #17. Beat up on a bad Oneonta team. Still the second best team in the SUNYAC. (longstick33) — #22. (minkhoo) — They are in a nice rhythm as they run through their conference schedule. (nevadajoe) — #15. (Richard) — #19. (thatsmell) — #19. (Youngred)

St. Lawrence: #17. A little bit of anticipation building for a season ending showdown against RIT. (Big Eyed Fish) — #15. (D-III) — #18. (goalielax10) — #20. Larries are showing that the Liberty League is a two-horse race. (idealtin) — #16. They dominated a good Clarkson team. Six straight wins. (longstick33) — #19. (minkhoo) — #14. (Richard) — #16. (Youngred)

Widener: #25. They've won six in a row and have their biggest games of the year this week. Perhaps a newly formed rivalry against Albright and then they'll host new MAC top dog Stevenson. (Big Eyed Fish) — #20. (D-III) — Blue collar group that doesn't quit. If they make the tournament, could be a team that upsets a favorite. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — #20. (goalielax10) — #18. Game vs. Stevenson should shed more light. Team has not lost in more than a month. (idealtin) — #14. (LaxForNow) — #19. Six wins in a row. Haven't lost in almost a month. Wednesday's game with Albright is going to be huge. (longstick33) — #14. (minkhoo) — Can't look past Albright before the Stevenson game. (nevadajoe) — #25. (Richard) — #24. (thatsmell) — Great season. (The Reason) — #15. (Youngred)

Endicott: #20. The Power Gulls weren't on my radar at all until this week. (Big Eyed Fish) — Big win over Tufts. (corkscrew) — #13. (D-III) — #13. (goalielax10) — #16. Some mid-March mistakes are behind the Gulls. Team is playing very well now. F/O specialist Osczyk (sp?) helps this team tremendously. (idealtin) — Gulls enter the poll with out a doubt. I was not sure where to place them, but they could climb up quick. I will be interested to see what the other voters do with the Gulls. Youth all over the field; don't sleep on the Gulls. (laxdood22) — #20. Losses to my #3 and #9 and to St. John Fisher with win over #5. Let's see how they do on road at Bowdoin and WNEU. (LaxForNow) — #17. (Richard) — #18. Power Gulls back on the map with whacking of the Jumbos. (thatsmell) — Big win over Tufts. (The Reason)

York: #22. Can this team come up with enough to knock off Salisbury in the CAC tournament? Probably not, but this is still a good team that's had an outstanding season. (Big Eyed Fish) — #16. (D-III) — #21. (goalielax10) — #18. (LaxForNow) — #16. (minkhoo) — This week will decide the #2 seed for the CAC tourney. (nevadajoe) — #17. Despite recent hiccup, still a very nice resume for the Spartans. Gave the Gulls the most fight in the CAC. (thatsmell)

Wesleyan: #18. I still think this a good team, but they have a very hard schedule remaining. (Big Eyed Fish) — #18. A one-goal loss to Bowdoin. Hanging on with just three losses. (longstick33) — #23. (minkhoo) — #16. Bowdoin? Really? Just when I was getting excited about Wesleyan, they have to go and lose to Bowdoin. (thatsmell) — Tough finish to schedule. (The Reason) — #21. (Youngred)

Gettysburg: #19. The loss to Dickinson is concerning, but I think they need to win the next two to stay relevant. (Big Eyed Fish) — #17. Drop down from 15 with loss to Dickinson and Roanoke jumping up spots. (LaxForNow) — #18. (minkhoo) — Have to win the conference tournament to get to the NCAAs this year. (nevadajoe)

Ithaca: No big wins, loss to Nazareth. (corkscrew) — #23. (goalielax10) — #17. Defense showed up vs. Fisher; however, Fisher's offense is in the medical ward due to injuries. (idealtin) — #15. Drop down two spots. (LaxForNow) — #20. (minkhoo) — #20. Four losses, but playing a lot of teams tough. (thatsmell) — #25. (Youngred)

Nazareth: #23. In and out of the top 20 all year long. (Big Eyed Fish) — #16. (goalielax10) — #19. If not for a stumble against Geneseo, this team would be ranked by all. Defense needs to stiffen up a bit, and this team could beat all takers (except maybe RIT). (idealtin) — A very tough end of the season coming up. (laxdood22) — #24. (minkhoo) — #22. (Richard) — #23. (thatsmell) — #24. (Youngred)

Bowdoin: #21. An interesting week drops them out my top 20. Hosting Endicott and Tufts at the end of the year gives them a chance to be right back in the thick of it. (Big Eyed Fish) — Nice win over Wesleyan. (Dehuntshigwa'es) — A tough week ended with a important conference win. Still think they are Top 20 talent and, no, I am not going based off the school's name or conference. (laxdood22) — #21. (minkhoo) — #21. (Richard) — #20. (Youngred)

Western New England:

Eastern: #25. (minkhoo) — Tuning up for that NCAA tournament invitation. (nevadajoe) — #23. (Richard)

St. Mary's: Hammered by Salisbury, but still have some good wins on their schedule. (corkscrew) — #25. (goalielax10) — #22. (thatsmell)

Mary Washington: #25. (thatsmell)

Keene State: #19. (Richard)
