Pollsters' Comments About Teams They Ranked

North Carolina: Their offense looks balanced with three separate hat tricks vs. the Hoos. The defense could be better, but give them time to adjust to life without Coppa. (Artemis3) — UNC with a UVa close one but keep it rolling. #1. (D-Lax) — No reason to move the Heels from the top spot. (DallasLaxDad) — The Tar Heels are a deep team with talent all over the field. They can get scoring from any position on the field, and with the defense playing as tough as they are, this is a tough out. (draw18) — #2. UNC still playing at a level above all comers but maybe coming down from the ionosphere to the stratosphere. (johnnyboy) — #1. Still atop the Empire State Building having HEELed the Hoos while the zombie apocolypse rages below. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Heels for not losing, so no change. (Lionwatcher) — #1—Best team in the land. (LowD09) — #1. Blue, blue, Tar Heel blue. Heels beat my Hoos, and I remain blue. (Lucky Laxer) — #1. Thank My Lucky Stars ... at least the Top spot was easy to fill in. (mytwokeepers) — #1. Can't argue with 7 wins against teams that have been beating top 20 teams. (Palmtree) — #1. Remain here atop the field. Do like wide win margins (but not running clock on the field types). Addicted. As they narrow, I worry. Top four teams now seem established. Rest: soooo competitive! Yahoo! (Rafterjack) — #1. Heels dominate second half to beat back Virginia. (slides2) — #2. (Turtles Lax) — #1. Heels run into a hot goaltender in Hooville and still pull away for a hard fought win. (UnderArmourOdor)

Maryland: The Terps are holding opposing teams to less than 30% in shooting. Their keeper Clipp's save rate is hovering near 60%. Impressive. (Artemis3) — Showdown in the Dome on Monday night ... the Top 3s starting to battle each other. #3. (D-Lax) — Is there any doubt the top 3 ACC squads are the nation's top 3? (DallasLaxDad) — The Terps might not be making a lot of noise, but they are taking care of things none the less. Scoring can come in bunches, and when the defense is as solid as it has been, Maryland continues to make a statement. (draw18) — #3. Terps can solidify number two in the land and heat up the debate over who is number one with a win over Syracuse next week. (johnnyboy) — #3. TERPed Bill and Mary, but will they get left at the GAIT in Syracuse? (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Terps for taking care of business, so no change. (Lionwatcher) — #2—Unless they lose in 7 hours to #3. (LowD09) — #2. I'm uninspired by the Terp/Orange match-up. Nothing good rhymes with either one. (Lucky Laxer) — #2. A beat-down of a surprising William & Mary squad secures the #2 slot for the Terps this week. And tonight, they will put the Terps to the test. (mytwokeepers) — #2. Seven wins but a couple easier teams in there. (Palmtree) — #2. Test at Carrier Dome with Orange coming up. Might succumb but loss there might be set-up for win later- as has been said. Has mo' ... Terps ... mentum. (Rafterjack) — #3. Tune up for Syracuse by routing W&M. (slides2) — #1. (Turtles Lax) — #3. Terps have a mid-week score fest at home against Bill and Mary before loading the Turtle Bus to head up to the Thunder Dome today! (UnderArmourOdor)

Syracuse: The showdown with the Terps should be a great one. Expect a lot of scoring ... and a lot of fouls. (Artemis3) — Syracuse had the week off and faces their biggest test of the season against the Terps on Monday night. #2. (D-Lax) — The no. 2 spot is on the line Monday. (DallasLaxDad) — There is no question that Syracuse can put points on the board; Alyssa Murray and Kayla Treanor are one of the top scoring tandems in the country. As the Syracuse defense gets stronger with every game, they become more and more of a threat. (draw18) — #1. "Cuse spending extra time getting ready for the Terps and prove they are deserving of my top spot. (johnnyboy) — #2. Thinking the Terps will be ORANGE slush tonight. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Orange for not playing, so no change. (Lionwatcher) — #3—Unless they lose in 7 hours to #2. (LowD09) — #3. Tonight's game will whittle the Top three to two and an also-ran. Virtually everybody else is a toss-up for the rest of this poll. (Lucky Laxer) — #3. The 'Cuse took the week off to prepare for their Monday night meeting with the Terps. Even with no games, they retain the third slot. (mytwokeepers) — #3. Six wins - three are quality - let's see what happens tomorrow. (Palmtree) — #3. On verge? Of downfall? All coaches important factors - but here! Yoikes. Ranking no. 3 currently. Historically, LOVE the 'Cuse! You? (Rafterjack) — #2. Get weekend off to prepare for showdown with Maryland in the Dome. (slides2) — #3. Took the week off to await the Turtles. (Turtles Lax) — #2. The Orange hold out in upstate NY awaiting the visitors from College Park! The G word (Mario Puzo novel) picks through game suits like Barney Stinson. (UnderArmourOdor)

Florida: Defensively, they look shaky. Offensively, they are hit and miss. But they gutted out a good win against Loyola and demolished Michigan. (Artemis3) — Gators are back on track and, due to Northwestern's meltdown, move on up to #4. (D-Lax) — The Gators climb back to no. 5, with seven straight wins. (DallasLaxDad) — Shannon Gilroy is continuing her great career at UF with solid play, and paired with Nora Barry makes a very tough 1-2 punch for the Gators. With Sam Darcangelo adding depth in the attack, Florida continues to be a tough out for defenses. (draw18) — #5. Gators have more than their eyes above the water now ... starting to see their teeth again. Rise in my rankings. (johnnyboy) — #4. HOUNDed by Loyola and barely survived and had Michigan seeing Gator Blue. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Gators for being consistent and beating the Dogs and the Wolverines. (Lionwatcher) — #15—Looks like an entirely different team than what we saw in week one. 'Cuse ahead! (LowD09) — #4. I'm just not that convinced that the Gators are worthy of being ranked this high, but I'm more convinced that no one else is either. (Lucky Laxer) — #5. Looked very good against Loyola and won both their games this week. Jump to my #5 slot. (mytwokeepers) — #4. Squeaker with Loyola. (Palmtree) — #4. Challenge for us is are we rating for season or for this week? Easy, currently, here. Season: 4. This week: 4. (Rafterjack) — #4. Gators show true grit by coming from behind to nip Loyola, then provide rude welcome to ALC for Michigan. (slides2) — #6. Playing rather well but, at a minimum, three (3) losses await the Gators. (Turtles Lax) — #4. Gators escape cold Charm City without losing their skin with the last five goals to escape the Hounds upset bid. (UnderArmourOdor)

Boston College: Two wins keep the Eagles in the poll. They are off to a pretty great start. (Artemis3) — Successful tour of California keeps BC in the Top 10. Oh wait, Cats and Blue Devils help Eagles move into the #5 spot. (D-Lax) — Beating Ohio State a couple weeks ago didn't seem like a big deal. The Eagles soar to no. 7 with a pair of wins out West. (DallasLaxDad) — The Eagles have been building to this point, and with Mikaela Rix and Covie Stanwick putting balls in the cage, this offense is clicking. BC has veterans all over the field, and their experience and talent has them riding high. (draw18) — #4. Eagles earn NU's old spot in my top 4. (johnnyboy) — #5. Rode Rt 66 right into my top 5. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Eagles for showing the Best Coast who is Boston Strong. (Lionwatcher) — #4—Ambitious team on the heels of the Big 3 in the ACC. (LowD09) — #6. How can I rank a team #6 that has only 30 saves in 7 games? I surely don't know, but that's what I just did. (Lucky Laxer) — #4. Boston College moves up to the #4 slot just by not screwing up. (mytwokeepers) — #6. Kudos for wins against OSU, ND, and UConn. (Palmtree) — #8. U win, U generally rise. (Rafterjack) — #5. Struggle some against USC, but West Coast trip is successful. (slides2) — #4. West Coast swing was as expected. And that surprises some ... but it should not. (Turtles Lax) — #7. Eagles visit to Hotel California goes ... wait let me Take it to the Limit of Eagles tune overkill, they give SDS and USC a Heartache Tonight stop me, but I’ve Already Gone too far! (UnderArmourOdor)

Johns Hopkins: This team is good. Can they be top 5 good? Not sure yet but they are well on their way. (Artemis3) — Hopkins appears to have figured out the consistency thing. #6. (D-Lax) — Now it gets tough. Johns Hopkins is 7-0, with wins over Loyola and Towson. I can't find anyone else more deserving of the fourth spot. (DallasLaxDad) — Johns Hopkins is playing very well as a team, and with Taylor D'Amore and KC Emerson doing so well, Hopkins has positioned itself for success. There are number of players up and down the field for the Jays that have experience and talent. (draw18) — #6. JHU riding the wave to my top 10. D'Amore at head of my Tewaaraton at the moment. (johnnyboy) — #10. The Men of Steele are flying high at 7-0 and into my Top 10. (LadyLaker) — Thanks, Blue Jays for winning the Charles Street Challenge and flying out of the gate. (Lionwatcher) — #5—Revamped Blue Jays making noise. Could they take the ALC? (LowD09) — #7. 7-0 and the CoC crown just a UMBC win away. That's not what many envisioned. The way they're doing it has my attention and my #7 vote! (Lucky Laxer) — #6. Champs of Charles Street, and 7-0. The Lady Jays leap to the #6 slot. (mytwokeepers) — #12. Not a fan - their two "quality" wins have lost ground in the polls. (Palmtree) — #5. This is exciting! Go for it, Jays! Do not recall Hopkins undefeated as far into season. And why not? Homewood/JHU most premier program of all! Can easily consult w/ all those H. of Famers! Putting them at #5 - risky. Prove me right! (Rafterjack) — #6. One win away from taking the golden crabcake. (slides2) — #7. TL is (maybe) becoming a believer. Coulda made some serious $$$ betting this team would be 7 and oh, my, how did they do it? (Turtles Lax) — #11. Blue Jays become the big upward movers as they seal the Charles Street Crown over the Tigers and punish GW top get to 7-0. (UnderArmourOdor)

Northwestern: Two losses for the Cats ... not sure what to make of that yet. (Artemis3) — Two losses in a week ... what's that? Boom! #9. (D-Lax) — Is it possible the Cats aren't even the third best squad in the ALC? This no. 13 vote is possibly too good. (DallasLaxDad) — The 'Cats have a host of talented players, and they can--and will--make huge plays for NU. They are still learning to put the pieces together, and, as they gel, this team will get more and more dangerous. (draw18) — #7. Expected the Wildcats to lose a game or two but didn't expect it to come against the Irish and OSU in the same week. Drop in my rankings. (johnnyboy) — #9. Cats nap their way to #7 but will claw their way back to the top 5. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Wildcats for getting rid of those ridiculous streaks. (Lionwatcher) — #12—This day was going to come. The Wildcats are vulnerable this year, but tradition, coaching, and work ethic should help them rebound by May. (LowD09) — #5. Just when I thought I saw everything ... Two losses in a row? To ND and OSU? Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore. (Lucky Laxer) — #10. My headache is worsening, thanks mostly to my #4 from last poll. A loss to Notre Dame! What, and a loss to OSU? You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding. Me! NU drops from my #4 to #10. (mytwokeepers) — #9. Never count KAH out - but the top teams coming up. (Palmtree) — #7. Great Cats rating for season continues to move down and away from the elite 2014 teams. No longer "Death Star," methinks. Weak nova by the pond ... far away, maybe (UAO)? Nonetheless, HUGE respect. (Rafterjack) — #9. Things go from bad to worse: lose to Notre Dame for first time since 2003, then lose to Ohio State for first time since, you guessed it, 2003. (slides2) — #17. Curious scheduling rendered even more curious in the aftermath of a two (2!) loss week for the Mildcats. When was the last time that happened? (Turtles Lax) — #10. The stolen plans of the Deathstar travel East from South Bend to Columbus, and the Empire shudders with only two weeks to rebuild before the invasion of the Dome. (UnderArmourOdor)

Notre Dame: Two very solid wins for the Irish this week. Knocking off the Purple people and holding off a feisty Louisville. The goalkeeper play must improve if ND wants to keep winning. (Artemis3) — Notre Dame pulls off the first of two upsets of the Purple Cats then puts icing on the Cardinals. #7. (D-Lax) — The Irish use the Force to climb to no. 12. And maybe now the Irish won't have to travel to Evanston to open post-season play. (DallasLaxDad) — Notre Dame is riding its momentum and doing well with it. The addition of Courtney Fortunato is paying huge dividends for the Irish, as she has been consistently scoring for ND. Her teammate Barbara Sullivan is holding her own in the backfield. (draw18) — #11. More impressive than two straight over NU and Louisville is the way they secured both victories with late comebacks. (johnnyboy) — #13. It's the lucky week for the Irish, but their win over the Cats get them my #13, not Faith and Begorrah. (LadyLaker) — Thanks Irish, for showing us Barrington Fieldhouse is not Lakeside Field and for confirming that the Eagle are for real. (Lionwatcher) — #10—Luck of the Irish or the real deal? Playing big right now. (LowD09) — #8. Halfpenny haters hated this past week. I've half a mind to write something witty, but the other half forgot what it was. (Lucky Laxer) — #11. Notre Dame is #11, one slot behind the team they beat this week. Yes, I have a headache and maybe that why this makes sense. (mytwokeepers) — #13. Again the year of one-goal wins, so they have moved up, but I am suspect. (Palmtree) — #6. Where were we? Oh, yes, lacrosse! The season is well underway. Have come alive, Irish. (Rafterjack) — #7. Poll is 52 Pickup from here on. Let's reward Notre Dame for inspired win over Northwestern plus come-from-behind win over Louisville. (slides2) — #12. Would be a bit higher if they had beaten any truly good team(s) thus far. ;-) (Turtles Lax) — #9. Nice call as NUstradamus! Irish catch Deathstar in Lake Barrington indoor dry dock rather than their frozen lake field and then prove indoor warriors taking down visiting Cards! (UnderArmourOdor)

Duke: A tough loss to Georgetown and a beat-down of Va Tech. Two saves for Duke vs. the Hoyas and 1 of f from the charity stripes. The ups and downs continue for the Devils. (Artemis3) — Duke behind Georgetown, at no. 16. (DallasLaxDad) — Duke has players who can put the ball in the cage, and they can win possession off the draws consistently. They are a talented team and can and will win games; the key is going to be taking leadership and ownership with regularity. (draw18) — #14. Maybe Coach K can teach Coach K his referee snarl and evil eye so the Devils will get some more calls ... because they need a little something to win those. (johnnyboy) — #8. Lost to G-town by one and beat up on VT but still thinking there is life left in this devil. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Blue Devils for showing your inconsistency. (Lionwatcher) — #14—On an 0-3 streak against tough teams. (LowD09) — #10. (Lucky Laxer) — #16. My headache continues as the Dookies lose to the Hoyas. I'm going to treat them with the confusion I feel. #16. (mytwokeepers) — #7. Really no quality wins yet. (Palmtree) — #9. Duke, among others, BCS-eyed. Such to dominate, it has been said. Orange, USC, PSU, Stan., Ducks, etc. I hope ME/BIG,BIGBIGME schools, universities fall. I, many Americans are for the little guy, underdog. Arf! Like on Charles St. (Rafterjack) — #10. Devils drop the ball against Georgetown, take out frustration on Virginia Tech. (slides2) — #22. (Turtles Lax) — #8. Back to back losses to the Empire and Turtles OK but Hoyas come into Durham and Dagger the Devils with a FPS goal at the horn. (UnderArmourOdor)

Stanford: The Cardinal come east, take down two top 20 teams and vault themselves up the poll. Nice work, Coach Bokker. (Artemis3) — The Cardinal surge in the second half and take out the Hoyas in OT. #12. (D-Lax) — The Cardinal's trip east has changed my view on the Palo Alto squad. Stanford climbs to no. 8, as the Vanderbilt loss now looks to be an aberration. (DallasLaxDad) — The Cardinal have a very experienced team that has capitalized on veteran leadership and talent to keep pace in the country; Hannah Farr and Rachel Ozer have led this team throughout the season. (draw18) — #8. Two dramatic comeback wins on the road over what are typically considered strong teams give Cardinal a nice boost in my rankings. (johnnyboy) — #6. Cardinal flies into a hot spot with solid wins over Towson and the Hoyas. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Cardinal for showing the Least Coast the play to the end tenacity of the California Girls. (Lionwatcher) — #7—Cardinal have left their Vandy loss in the dust. (LowD09) — #9. Stanford comes East, grabs two in OT, and goes home having jumped 10 spots in my poll. Looks like they're the West Coast team to beat so far. (Lucky Laxer) — #8. With a very strong Eastern trip, the Cardinal grabs #8. (mytwokeepers) — #10. Who would have thought after Vandy goes west and gets their only win that these trees get it together and knock off two good programs. (Palmtree) — #14. Will the REAL Stanford please stand up? Or do we wait for USC to be a/the FIRST ... West Coast program? East Coast saturated. C'mon, wake up Cardinal!!! It IS that easy (for you) and door/field is wide open. (Rafterjack) — #11. Two OT wins over Towson and Georgetown on East Coast swing. Maybe Vandy loss was just a hiccup. (slides2) — #10. From outta nowhere the 'whatever they're now called' have returned to TOPTM. (Turtles Lax) — #13. IndianCardTrees bounce back into Top 20 with three wins in five days two big OT wins! (UnderArmourOdor)

Virginia: How do you lose but rise in the rankings? You play a good game vs. the #1 and get help from some other big losses. Still not sure about this team. (Artemis3) — Close one with UNC but no cigar. #10. (D-Lax) — I just can't rank a team with two wins and four losses. (DallasLaxDad) — The Cavaliers have a host of talent; they now need to develop it and get the most out of it consistently. They will stay in games, but to be able to finish them with consistency they will need to grow as a team. (draw18) — #15. Well at least the NU, Loyola, Syracuse, Penn St. UNC death march to open the season is behind them ... should have some more feel-good results for a couple of weeks. (johnnyboy) — #11. And within my top 11, I am considering respectable losses ... Wahoo do you think of that? (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Cavaliers for being the best 2-4 team. (Lionwatcher) — #13—Cavaliers are good, but they're not great. No Top 10 from me. (LowD09) — #11. I'm throwing a fat one up for you! UVa is the best 2-4 team in the country! (Lucky Laxer) — #12. It would have been a lot easier for me if UVa had lost to Penn State last week. I hate having a 2-4 team in the #12 slot, but that is where they are in the World According To Me. (mytwokeepers) — #5. I guess that Penn State win is why they are still up here. (Palmtree) — #12. Lowest I have seen UVa in years! Issue of who will be "displaced" by BCS programs coming on line. Some in ACC, some in Ivy? (Rafterjack) — #14. Liz Colgan's 22 saves not enough to save the Hoos. (slides2) — #18. Could gave rocked Lucky Laxer's world ... didn't. (Turtles Lax) — #5. Refuse to quit against the Baby Blue Horde, keeping all the visitors starters in at the end. At least lost to a high-ranked squad as other flamed out around them. (UnderArmourOdor)

Penn State: Can the real Penn State please stand up?? Confusing loss to JMU and then a beat-down of Loyola. I still think they are a good team. (Artemis3) — The Nittany Lions probably should be on my ballot for their three wins, but I can't get past the three losses. (DallasLaxDad) — Penn State has depth at the front line, and they can utilize their numbers to create problems for the defense. The defense is coming together behind Kelly Lechner, and as the Nittany Lions get more experience, they will stay in the upper echelon. (draw18) — #12. Much needed win over the Hounds to keep TOPTM pollsters off the Nittanies' back. (johnnyboy) — #12. PSU is the poster child for Week 5 of the TOPTM - had a solid win and lost a puzzler. (LadyLaker) — Thanks for confusion, Lions. Turf worse than grass then some sure fired home cooking. (Lionwatcher) — #19—Disappointing start to season. (LowD09) — #12. The Nittanies are no more than another squiggly line or splat in a Jackson Pollock painting, indistinguishable from others. Not unlike a bug vying for space on my windshield or teams for a remaining spot in my poll. (Lucky Laxer) — #14. A smack down of Loyola saves Penn State this week, but really, Dr. Jeckel, meet Mr. Hyde. (mytwokeepers) — #8. Tough one-goal losses and a win over slumping Hounds. (Palmtree) — #15. (Rafterjack) — #8. Nittany Lions slip up at JMU but pull it all together against Loyola. (slides2) — #15. (Turtles Lax) — #12. Loss in the Valley looks to free fall Lions but roar back to maul Hounds. (UnderArmourOdor)

Georgetown: The win against Duke was great ... then there's the loss to Stanford. Their season is as hilly as their campus. (Artemis3) — One-goal games work for and against the Hoyas. #17. (D-Lax) — Georgetown behind Towson and in front of Duke, at 15. (DallasLaxDad) — Georgetown has some signature wins on the season, thanks to a group of players that works well together and has talent in a number of different positions. With Caroline Tarzian and Kelyn Freedman leading the Hoyas, GU has played well. (draw18) — #18. Nice Duke win negated by OT loss to Stanford on Sunday. (johnnyboy) — #7. Only in my #7 spot b/c they beat Duke and I can't stand to hear the Devil whining about the TOPTM. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Hoyas for showing that inconsistency is a virtue and that you have to play an entire 60 minutes. (Lionwatcher) — #9—Releasing a 6-goal lead in the 2nd half is never a good idea. (LowD09) — #16. This vote irks me the most so far. I don't like GT, but they are the smallest zit left. (Lucky Laxer) — #20. The Hoyas get #20, just because they are better than all the other pretenders. (mytwokeepers) — #11. Again one goal OT catch of Dook but then reverse happens and they are on losing side with Stanford. Big games coming up, like five tough ones. (Palmtree) — #13. Move over to Charles Street, maybe? (Rafterjack) — #15. Big win over Duke, but Hoyas then blow 10-4 lead to Stanford and lose in OT. (slides2) — #14. Hoyas were about to be the week's big mover with Durham Dagger until Hoya Paranoia arrives with TreeCardIndians coming back down 4-10 as they pull the goalie to tie it! (UnderArmourOdor)

Massachusetts: Still looking for the Big Girls. #13. (D-Lax) — I have to give credit to squads that win all their games, especially in a season when so many others are losing to teams they are "supposed" to beat. The Minutewomen have earned the no. 6 spot. (DallasLaxDad) — UMass has depth at attack and a solid backfield, a combination that does not bode well for their opponents. As long as Sam Rush provides a pivotal third attacker, UMass is tough to defend. (draw18) — #10. UMass avoids the carnage of the first week of March. (johnnyboy) — #20. 6-0 but with s so-so sked, still they are playing more competitive games than Navy so they are above them. (LadyLaker) — Thanks Minutewomen, for underwhelming us with opponents. (Lionwatcher) — #17—I hate putting a team with such a weak SOS in my Top 20, but they just keep winning. (LowD09) — #15. 6-0, #61 SOS, #16 RPI and #17 in the LP computer. Yes, I know all that. Yes, I voted them #15. Yes, they are worthy. (Lucky Laxer) — #7. At 7-0, with wins against a couple of teams I like, UMass controls my #7 slot. That being said, their strength of schedule leaves this ranking uncertain. (mytwokeepers) — #20. Six wins but a fairly weak schedule. (Palmtree) — #18. (Rafterjack) — #12. Unbeaten. (slides2) — #5. Pay attention, doubters. This team is tough! And will be undefeated 'til The Dance. PS: Still no takers on TL's wager; odds may soon be offered. ;-) (Turtles Lax) — #6. Minutewomen double up NH Wildcats now have 16 days before they meet the other Wildcats of NU to prove they belong. This week ppponents’ records improves to 11-22. (UnderArmourOdor)

Penn: Penn does such a nice job of ball control and setting the tempo defensively, and that patience and poise has led to wins. Lucy Ferguson is standing tough in the cage, and a number of players can step up big for the Red and Blue. (draw18) — #9. Quakers establishing themselves atop the Ivy as Princeton and Dartmouth falter. (johnnyboy) — #14. With a win over the Crimson, have a solid start to their season. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Quakers for showing who is the Man in the Ivy (for now). (Lionwatcher) — #6—Only allowing 7 goals a game; strong defense will keep them in a good place. (LowD09) — #14. So Larry's behind in his payments, but I've got no other team to put here. This week, that makes sense. (Lucky Laxer) — #14. Good defense - a bit rough but they need an offense. Harvard game was one or two goals until final 10 minutes. (Palmtree) — #11. Best Ivy. (Rafterjack) — #13. Defense the name of the game as always at Penn. (slides2) — #13. Despite perpetually pathetic offense. (Turtles Lax) — #16. Quakers D puts teams in the Red Zone this week the Scarlet Knights and Harvard Crimson allowing just 3 and 4 respectively! Towson: Losses to Stanford and Hopkins drop the Tigers significantly this week. This is a top 10 team. Maybe someone should remind them of that. (Artemis3) — Three-game losing streak. Drop to #16 but stay that high due to a lack of consistency of other teams. (D-Lax) — I'm putting Towson ahead of G'town, and the Hoyas ahead of Duke, solely based on head to head. Towson at 14. (DallasLaxDad) — Towson is a solid team and their ability to score in bunches and feed off a strong defensive set has positioned them well. Kelsey Donnelly is playing well and that is giving the team confidence. (draw18) — #17. Tigers would be better off emulating UNC than UVa this season. Big drop in my rankings. (johnnyboy) — #17. This is probably the 2-3 team out there. Loyola game is must-win for both teams. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Tigers for showing us that life in the bright lights is fleeting and lacrosse is bi-coastal. (Lionwatcher) — #8—Tough losses, but respectable. Still a team to watch! (LowD09) — #9. Headaches abound this week as I complete the poll. Even my beloved Tigers lose in the Charles Street Cup to JHU ... my head is killing me. #9 ... with a question mark. (mytwokeepers) — #15. Disappointing loss to Hopkins. (Palmtree) — #16. Tiger 'flu' I had briefly over. Yes, have to be extremely careful w/ these non-Corp., non-BCS wannabees. Don't care! They just like to play the game. (Rafterjack) — #16. Tough week for Tigers. (slides2) — #19. Next up Loyola in a battle of two mad Aussies. Who could have fathomed that both teams would have losing records at this point in the season? Loser will be totally gone from TOPTM. (Turtles Lax) — #17. Tigers face extinction losing Charles Street Fight II to the Hop but can’t win at Johnny U against the visitors from afar. (UnderArmourOdor)

Loyola: The questions continue with this team. On the one hand, they have a keeper with 4 double-digit save efforts thus far, an attack that is putting up lots of goals and a 4-game losing streak to show for it. They're in my dog house. (Artemis3) — Four-game losing streak. Jen Adams needs to create some magic. #22. (D-Lax) — Can't believe I had the Greyhounds at no. 4 two weeks ago. Unranked now. (DallasLaxDad) — The Greyhounds have a number of players who can make a difference all over the field. Their schedule this season has been a strong one, and that will pay dividends at the end of the season. (draw18) — #16. Greyhounds certainly have talent, but they seem to lack a disciplined game plan and team defense. (johnnyboy) — #16. Are these the Dog Days for the Hounds? Time to bust outta the dog house with a win over Towson. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Greyhounds for showing us that at least two teams can be good at 2-4 and that one goal really does matter - three times. (Lionwatcher) — #20—Someone needs to stop the leak before it becomes a flood. Skidding out of my Top 20 with 0-4 streak. (LowD09) — #15. The Hounds have not really earned the #15 slot, but it still feels right to me. I feel ... oh heck, I've been hanging around the women's game too long! (mytwokeepers) — #16. OMG, gotta stop the bleeding here. (Palmtree) — #10. Yeah, yeah - this ranking despite record. And, yes, there is a Santa Claus! It's myself and others who support teams who play the best/challenging schedules (Navy?)! (Rafterjack) — #17. Almost pull off upset of Florida, fall flat against Penn State. (slides2) — #20. Outta the doghouse and into the pound following a troubling week. This team should be better than they have played. (Turtles Lax) — #20. Hounds beat Hoos and P-Tigers early and then take back to back to back one-goal losses before an unhappy trip to Happy Valley. Charles St. Consolation Match this week. (UnderArmourOdor)

Ohio State: Two huge wins this week as the Buckeyes take down both NU and Louisville. (Artemis3) — Upset of the Cats moves the Buckeyes back into the Top 20. #18. (D-Lax) — Ohio State lands at 17 in a compromise between unranked for the loss to Canisius and top 10 for the win over NU. (DallasLaxDad) — Ohio State has shown their ability to play with anyone this season, and with Tori DeScenza guarding the cage for the Bucks, this team has the confidence to go after each game. Wins are going to continue to come for this team. (draw18) — #13. Buckeyes have a couple of good Ws despite the losses. (johnnyboy) — #18. Big win over the Cats has them in my top 20. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Buckeyes for showing us that Canisius was an aberration and confirming that I was not crazy early for including you. (Lionwatcher) — #11—Playing strong right now with resilient victories over Louisville and Northwestern. I might be polling them high, but it's my poll, so I can do what I want! (LowD09) — #13. New rule: In order to be a hater, one must first know how to spell the coach's name. That should at least buy Venechanos one peaceful week. (Lucky Laxer) — #17. Exciting turnaround - props to AV and crew doing good work that pays off. (Palmtree) — #18. Buckeyes came close to beating Northwestern in 2012 and 2013. This year they pull it off. (slides2) — #21. (Turtles Lax) — #19. Beating the Cards by one hurts that squad, beating NU gets you back in the Top 20. (UnderArmourOdor)

Albany: Coach Battaglino has the Great Danes rolling through their schedule. #15. (D-Lax) — I said last week the Dartmouth game would give a good read on the Great Danes. The view was positive, so the Great Danes climb to no. 11. (DallasLaxDad) — #23. Green may not be so big this season but still a good win for Albany's resume. (johnnyboy) — #20. Danes down Dartmouth! They're 4-0! Good enough to get my #20 vote! (Lucky Laxer) — #17. Beating a questionable Dartmouth team is the Danes claim to fame so far. The #17 slot seems about fair to me. (mytwokeepers) — #19. Tied with Dartmouth well into second half but then easily pulled away. Undefeated (4-0). Dane's nemesis, Stony Brook. We see. (Rafterjack) — #21. Make short work of Dartmouth. Watch out for the Danes. (slides2) — #9. Big dawgs are now starting to bite. (Turtles Lax) — Great Danes hit the radar with win over Big Green! (UnderArmourOdor)

Navy: Underwhelmed by Navy's schedule. Late April match-up with Loyola couldn't come soon enough. #20. (D-Lax) — The Mids have won them all so far while everyone below them has lost to teams they were "supposed" to beat. Navy closes out the top-10. (DallasLaxDad) — #19. More of same from Navy so more of same from me. (johnnyboy) — #21. Navy sinks from my top 20 because of their schedule. (LadyLaker) — Thanks Navy, for not playing anyone so that I cannot tell if you belong. (Lionwatcher) — #22. My #2 team in the NOT in the Top 20! (Lucky Laxer) — #22. (Rafterjack) — #19. Keep winning, but no real test yet. (slides2) — #8. Boom, boom, boom! (Turtles Lax) — #15. Mids also get to 7-0 this week also punishing GW and open conference title defense against the Leopards of Lafayette. (UnderArmourOdor)

James Madison: Beat Penn State but lost to UConn. You tell me whether that deserves ranking. I settled on "no" this week. (DallasLaxDad) — James Madison has played consistently throughout the season thus far and has solid players up and down the field. Schuyler Healy is playing well in the net, giving her team a great deal of confidence. (draw18) — #21. "Dukes of Earl"y season all set to break into my top 20; then got huskied by UConn on Sunday. (johnnyboy) — #15. James Madison was a sneaky guy and so is his namesake team, as they quietly make a big noise with wins over the Hounds and the Lions and sneak into my #15. (LadyLaker) — #18—Welcome to my poll, Dukes! Should not have lost to UConn, but wins over Loyola and Penn State trump. (LowD09) — #17. These dogs are nipping at the ones in front of them. They would be higher if they'd bitten the Huskies. (Lucky Laxer) — #13. Are you kidding me. Beat Loyola; beat Penn State; lose to UConn? Will the real James Madison please stand up! (mytwokeepers) — #18. Maybe it is a home field mojo. (Palmtree) — #24. Liking you. You getting it done. Appear out of the long grass suddenly, seems. Impressed, however, that CT fronted you. They seem to ... come and go, UConn. See why we do not see you in N.E. more often. (Rafterjack) — #24. Big win over Penn State, but Dukes slip in OT to UConn. (slides2) — #25. Down go the Dukes with loss to awful UConn. (Turtles Lax) — #18. Dukes stage a second ambush this time the Nittany Lions fall but should never leave the Valley as they lose at Storrs ... at Storrs I said! (UnderArmourOdor)

Stony Brook: I don't have a clue. Maybe the Seawolves are one of the top 20 teams in the nation. Maybe they're not even close. Unranked for now. (DallasLaxDad) — Stony Brook's youngsters are getting a lot of playing time, and that is getting them ready for the competition at the end of the season. With Frankie Caridi holding down the fort in the cage, the rookies can develop with confidence. (draw18) — #20. Seawolves move into easier part of their schedule starting with a W over Rutgers. Beware of the curse of my #20 spot. (johnnyboy) — #23. (LadyLaker) — Thank you, Seawolves for showing us that coasting can be fun too. (Lionwatcher) — #19. Beating Rutgers keeps Stony Brook in the Top 20 at #19. (mytwokeepers) — #17. (Rafterjack) — #20. Easy win over Rutgers. (slides2) — First women’s game at Rutgers High Point Solutions Stadium with 52K+ seating is a big deal in the home of ScarKnights football, but Seawolves disappoint home crowd. (UnderArmourOdor)

Yale: Bulldogs are undefeated and face their first big test on Saturday against Penn. #21. Why not? (D-Lax) — At this point, Yale looks to be the best of the Ivy Group. I've got the Bulldogs at no. 9. (DallasLaxDad) — #24. Off to best start in 4-5 years; anxious to see how Yale plays against Penn. (johnnyboy) — #21. Beat Dartmouth, good on ya! Beat the others (7-13 combined records), ok. Beat Penn on Saturday, I'll move you up with the Big Girls! (Lucky Laxer) — #18. The Elis continue to win. #18. (mytwokeepers) — #23. (Rafterjack) — #25. First time I recall considering the Elis for anything. (slides2) — #11. Easily over Q-PAC and now 5-zip. (Turtles Lax) — Eli don’t disappoint against Bryant and Q-9! (UnderArmourOdor)

Denver: The mountain ladies are doing what they do: winning the games they should win. (Artemis3) — Denver was drawn out of a hat for no. 19. (DallasLaxDad) — #18. Yeah, I'm prejudiced. So what! (Lucky Laxer) — #20. (Rafterjack) — #23. Beat Vandy after Stanford couldn't. (slides2) — #14. Looking swell. 'Best of the West' now down to Pioneers and Aztecs. Oh, and now Stanford after having risen from the dead. (Turtles Lax) — Pioneers have good week at altitude beating Vandy and Temple. (UnderArmourOdor)

Louisville: Lost by one to Ohio State, who put up the second upset of the Cats this week. #19. (D-Lax) — #22. Cardinals suffer from the curse of my #20 spot from last week ... it's kind of like the play by play announcers jinxing the consecutive free throw shooters on TV. (johnnyboy) — #22. (LadyLaker) — Thanks Cardinals, (for having an "s") for setting up a pecking order in the Midwest. (Lionwatcher) — #16—One-goal losses to hot Notre Dame and Ohio State on the road. I still champion the Cards. (LowD09) — #19. One-goal loss to OSU and 3-goal loss to ND does not diminish the Cardinals much in my book. Playing tough teams is good and gets them my vote. (Lucky Laxer) — #19. Canisius is turning into a big game this week. (Palmtree) — #22 Tough losses to Ohio State and Notre Dame. (slides2) — #24. Hmmm ... two bad losses after a surprising start. Go figure. (Turtles Lax)

Canisius: #16. (Turtles Lax)

Brown: Why not Brown at 18? They're unbeaten and just vanquished Princeton. (DallasLaxDad) — #25. Always like to welcome new teams to my top 25 taking the place of Princeton. (johnnyboy) — #19. Brown at 4-0 with a solid, history-making, win over conference rival Princeton. (LadyLaker) — #25. Undefeated Bruins (4-0) - great job! Two OTs to down Princeton for first time since 1991. Second Ivy upstart along with Yale. (Rafterjack)

Robert Morris: I was delaying my bed time too long trying to figure out the last 5 spots on my ballot. Everyone I considered had too many flaws. So, I settled on Robert Morris for the final spot - the Colonials are unbeaten, and the NEC deserves the recognition. (DallasLaxDad)

Other Teams Pollsters Considered (and comments, if any)

. Princeton: Thank you, Tigers for the wave by-by as you fall out of the twenty. (Lionwatcher) — #21. Huge surprise loss at Brown. Hmm, Tigers, wherefore art thou? (Rafterjack)

. Vermont: #23. Tough one-goal loss at Fairfield. Not much else that looks good in the 9-23 record of their opponents. (Lucky Laxer)

. Vanderbilt: Dores go 1-1 on Left Coast swing getting Stanford but follow that with disappointment in little D. (UnderArmourOdor)

. Harvard:

. William & Mary: #24. Gotta love 'em! (Lucky Laxer)

. Connecticut: #21. Beating James Madison would have earned UConn the bottom of the Top 20, but not quite. (mytwokeepers)

. New Hampshire:

. Hofstra:

. San Diego State: #23. Would have liked to keep them a tad higher but expected more versus Boston College. (Turtles Lax)
