Roanoke Sinks Captains in NCAA Opening Round

SALEM, VA--The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team picked up its first NCAA Division III tournament victory since the 1992 season, defeating visiting Christopher Newport 14-6 on Wednesday in Salem, VA. With the win in the First Round game, the Maroons improve to 15-3 overall, tying the second most wins in program history. Christopher Newport, which was the USA South conference champion, has its season come to a close with a 12-5 mark. The Maroons will play #1 Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon in Lancaster, PA.
