Former Princeton Laxer, Amherst Team Founder/Coach Dies

The Rev. John B. Coburn, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts until he retired in 1986, died August 8th at the age of 94. Coburn played lacrosse at Princeton, graduating in 1936. After teaching for three years in Turkey, earning a master's of divinity in 1942 from Union Theological Seminary, and serving as a Navy chaplain in World War II, Coburn was rector of a church in Amherst, Mass. and also served as chaplain at Amherst.   [full story]
