Losses include only those that occur within the division or league (see ratings for a list of teams). Losses are weighed as follows: losing to the top 20% rated teams is awarded 0.2, second 20% is award- ed 0.4 ... bottom 20% is awarded 1.0. That is, if there are 100 teams in a league and they are rated by the computer rankings from 1 to 100. If a team loses to a team rated 1-20, then they lose 0.2 points. If it loses to teams rated 21-40,each loss counts as 0.4 points. If it loses to a team rated 100 it will lose the maximum of 1 point. Thus the worse the opponent the more points lost.
