With 17 minutes left in the fourth quarter of the Championship of the Lacrosse World Games of 1998 played at Johns Hopkins on July 24, Mark Millon scored, giving the United States what appeared to be an unsurmountable 13-4 lead. Announcer Leif Elmso commented "and this one looks to be impossible for Canada to overcome!". Unfortunately, no one bothered to tell the Canadian Team as they scored 9 unanswered goals, 3, in the last 90 seconds, to send the game into overtime.   We have captured in "avi" format, these last 9 goals plus the three goals scored in the two overtimes and the final desperation shots by the Canadians as they came up 1 goal short in their dramatic loss to the United States 15-14.
In order to keep the file to a reasonable size (7.5 megs) we captured only 4 video frames a second, although the audio (Leif and Quint) was saved at full speed. The size of the images are small (240 x 180) but viewable. We had to compromise some quality, but the 2 1/2 minute viewing will recreate the excitement of the game. To view this file, download it to your system and allowing the avi to transfer over the network. That should take about 30 minutes on a 28K modem. After it has been transferred, you can then play it by clicking on the picture. You can save it to your hard disk by selecting "File" and "save as" from your browser.
The videos of the World Games are offered by Leif Elsmo (leif@laxtv.com) and at site: (http://www.laxtv.com). We recommend that you purchase it to fully appreciate this and otherWorld games.   LaxPower was not asked, nor is it paid, for this endorsement.   The copyrights of this video belong to US Lacrosse.
